I read somewhere that the inverter air cond will only save you money
if the outside temp and inside room temp is small.

it wont save if u are using in the hot afternoon where temp is varied a lot between indoor and outdoor

trying to decide whether to get inverter vs non inverter

thanks for your input

Inverter is definately can save more money but not as much as 50% as claimed. Please do some reserach on Daikin brand. Very reputable and known to be reliable (in overseas) Panasonic / Hitachi also has inverter range as well. Panasonic cost more due to higher installation cost as well as piping cost. (cater for different type of gas)

Good luck

The cost of annual service is expensive cost the gas used are Eco friendly gas. Normal gas refill and chemical service - RM 120. Inverter gas refill & chemical service - RM 250. Double the price !!!! Beware

If you need to refill the gas annually, then the installer has done a lousy leaky job. Branded or not won't make any difference in this case. It should work like your fridge does...10 , 20, years till total breakdown without a refill...

Must have mixed up with the annual service for your car aircond...

The R410A is not all that common yet, but just like everything else, the more ppl who use it, the cheaper it will get.

But I'm using a 1.5hp Inverter ... love it. Everyday about 5hour use, total electricity bill monthly around RM60-70. This is with a 700L fridge, front load washer, and recently a dryer in the house as well. So yeah, its quite economical for daily use.

But beware, if you like your rooms to be as cold as the arctic ... then don't get this as it won't save you any money. It works best when set at around 23 degrees. One month I tried running it at 19 degrees ... fuuh ... over RM100 that month .. hee hee.
