I intend to climb Mt Kinabalu June/July 2009.
Would appreciate if anyone has contact details of a good (reasonable costs) organizer.

How's the weather on the top in June/July.

i will be climbing Mount Kinabalu in April 2009.

am told that the best months to climb is March and April, ie the dry seasons. when it is wet, it is dangerous to climb.

i am paying rm950 for 5D4N, not inclusive of air ticket.

PM you for organiser contact.

I am climbing in Apr 2009 too. Wish you the best in your climb. I gotta work hard to built up the strength and body for photo... :)

You got to book fast cos it is limited. I will pm you my agent detail too. Then you can compare. My agent is going together with me too. He is my friend's friend. They normally go outing & adventure together. Heard that he is a very outgoing type of guys too.

tbearer..thats really expensive...as for me...RM1050 which will include the climb from mersilau to peak and down via timpohan..then proceed to poring hot spring the next day..then after that go for water rafting at kilau river..then go back to town to stay over night.... :)

me going in may/june 2009 for the 2nd time... :D :D

to train for mount kk is depends where u r starting from... timpohan (like staircase only) and mersilau... u have to go through 3 hills... but both track will meet at layang layang hut which is the 4km mark from timpohan...

mersilau trail is longer by 1.5km..but you will not regret it walking at it..

remember when u reach up there, if you have breathing difficulties, please let ur friends know and do not climb.. u might have altititude sickness.... i just got back last month..

tbearer, jimmyay, chewie,
thanks for the information and will check up with the contacts.

Btw, what was your strategy in getting the air-ticket.
Did you booked the ticket first, (hoping for zero fare), then fixed
the climbing dates or the other way round.

justme... book the climbing dates first then only the tickets

tbearer ..is for 5D4N... :)

Your RM900 to RM970 got what activity ?? And the price to to start climb from where?

Next year, they will increase the price again.. so better lock it this year

mine includes climb both timpohan and mersilau trial, accommodation for all nights, all meals, hot spring transportation, and airport transfer. not doing white water rafting.
