I am posting the appeal below from a lady friend. It's self explanatory, but if anyone was a witness to this accident, please assist by emailing or pm me.
Thanks and Regards.

"Am boiling mad. At about 8.25pm tonight (15th Oct), my daughter (Rebecca) was driving home - going towards USJ11 and stopped at the USJ4 traffic light (opposite Shell/Petronas). When the light turned green, the cars in front started moving. For no reason, the car in front of hers jammed the brake and of course, she had to brake but it was just a gentle tap since there was a big space between her car and the one in front..

However, the car at the back rammed into her car. Thank God, she is alright. The bumper was a goner. Rebecca moved her car slightly forward, thinking of moving it to the side, to avoid creating a traffic jam, but the jerk at the back took this opportunity to immediately drive off!!!

Because it was dark and there was a slight drizzle, and she was completely taken off guard, she did not even managed to take down that idiot's car number!

So, we couldn't go and make a report, as we don't even have the car number of the jerk who hit her car!

Just thought of letting off steam and appealing to forward this to your friends who stay in Subang Jaya/USJ. Perhaps someone had noticed the car number??

Please help!"

Patrick,
Isn't there CCTV cameras mounted on the lamp-posts near these traffic lights by MPSJ to monitor the area?? Did the cameras record the incident?? Can anyone get access to the recordings or... are those CCTV cameras dummy cameras like the ones in KLIA ??

I remember a previous YB mentioning that MPSJ spent a heck of a lot of moolahs on those CCTVs before he was voted out....

and lose your 55% ncb for a hundred or two?
dont ever treat insurance like loose change - respect it like your banker for emergencies. its like the nations gold reserves to bnm.

55% ?? didn't know that
But what if you don't use it, and another accident like that happen. will you not use it again and loose some more money? maybe should take the risk.. huh?

Actually, I wonder if the CCTVs actually work? If these are "so called monitored".....then it would easy to study jams too right? :D so....now everyone says ask YB...last time...I got told off that it is good project by previous YB and MPSJ and some forummers...so...now...CCTV...is that another issue that we have still hidden?

I think you actually do not understand how car insurance works.
When you insure your car, the premium that you pay every year for the insurance will get less every year if you do not make any claims from them. The premium drops down to a maximum of 55% of the actual premium. therefore, if the premium is RM1,000 annually, you only pay RM450 when you reach the NCB of 55% (NCB = no claims bonus)

Now if you claim from the insurance to pay for your crushed bumper, you will need to pay the maximum insurance premium the following year because you would have lost the 55% NCB. You then start again to reduce the premium (or increase the NCB from zero). That may take you maybe 3,4 or 5 years to reach the 55%? Calculate the cost of making a claim and how much it cost to pay it yourself... then decide if you should claim from the insurance.

Unless you have insurance on your NCB too... :p :)

Then you can claim on your own insurance and NOT lose your NCB.

My old car seems to attract other cars to kiss kiss... after a while, scratches here and bump there. Couldnt be bothered after a while since its minor.

Since it is plastic, its a bit costly to ketuk and spray....

Once you have a few scratches and dents on your car DO NOT repair it. Those are your protection against further damage.

If you repair and repaint your car, it will soon attract something to kiss it and you are back to square one

As for the minor accidents, well if no one hurt... just move on (life)... make a police report if needed.... repair when got money :)
