Sometimes, i am feeling disappointed with our govt. Should my children also need to suffer for this?

I remember when i started my work as accountant, i avoid travelling to 'developed countries' for vacation. I always said that with the purchasing power we have, we better go to South East Asia as we can spend like king. My friend as a Finance Mgr with RM8k of salary also feeling terrible when he travel to USA. With everything multiple with 3.8, it is so difficult to buy anything.

More than 10 years ago, the idea of Europeon Union started to improve on the allied-countries living standard and competitiveness. There are obviously on the right path. No dounbt, there are lot's of hurdles in the implementation...BUT they are on the right track.

How about MALAYSIA? Are we on track or are we on the "jalan lumpur in kampung"?

My friend that work in Govt dept dare not even travel to Spore. By just looking at the exchange rate, they are scared already. Eventually, they become "katak bawah tempurung". Is our leader thinking that "katak bawah tempurung" is easier to manage?

The thought of migration started this year when my friend migrate to Spore and seeing that the family get better life and the children getting better education, it alerted me. We need good education to be competitive in this globalisation.

any comment??

Wherever you migrated to, you will end up ALMOST the same if you did not grab the opportunity at the right time. You can migrate to UK and earn pound sterling, if u chose to be complacent, then you will end up with the same situation u are in M'sia.

I have heard of some friends migrated to Australia, inform me that he is not happy there as the people there is not that friendly, they don't really mix with you if you are chinese. They have such thinking that Chinese are "Pendatang". :)

Nowadays, with the advancement of IT technology, you can gained insights of a country thro internet. There is not necessary for you to physically be there to know everything.. of course I know that having holiday in western countries are more enjoyable but that doesn't mean that you will be 'katak dibawah tempurung' if you don't travel to these countries. :)

Many people will say the grass is always be greener on the other side.
I guess you will have to weigh your option carefully.
How young and health is your family?
I am too old to migrate but if I was given a choice I would pick Australia.
At least I am a "Pendatang" that is treated with respect and no political party member or other individual is above the law.

I have heard of some friends migrated to Australia, inform me that he is not happy there as the people there is not that friendly, they don't really mix with you if you are chinese. They have such thinking that Chinese are "Pendatang". :) Tell them to look up John Chun Sai So (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_So), the repeat 102nd Lord Mayor of Melbourne...though he was not born in Australia, I believe that no Australian of any substance would call him "pendatang."

And perhaps then your friends could look at their own efforts to mix with Australians. Clearly John So and many like him have found a way.

Cheers, m
