"The group tested five popular baby bottle brands -- Avent, Dr. Brown's, Evenflo, Gerber and Playtex -- all five of which leached bisphenol A at levels "found to cause harm in numerous laboratory animal studies," Gibson said."

"Bisphenol A has been linked by scientists to cancers, impaired immune function, early onset of puberty, obesity, diabetes and hyperactivity, Gibson said."

Some babies like to throw their bottles away when done. Imagine, how many bottles we have to keep buying if each break

The report was way back in 2007, these people would have changed the way they made the bottles.

I have been actively looking for bottles which are BPA free. So far, the famous AVENT brand in Malaysia is not stated as BPA-free. So far I found MAM to be BPA free and it might be available in Malaysia as they already converted all their products to BPA free.

I am using the Bfree brand which also claims to be BPA free. As my son is 2 now, he drinks his milk from the Bfree sippy cup instead of baby milk bottle.

The brand name is Bfree. I bought it at the baby store in Atria Damansara Jaya, top floor.

MAM products is available in local bb products shop, for more details, pls refer to http://www.mymam.com.my/k_811.shtml

* noted : i am not a salesman for MAM

As long as the bottle is made by Polypropene (PP) (plastic ID code: 5), then it should be free from BPA. Unfortunerly, most of the local brand and some famous oversea brand bb bottles are produced by Polycarbonates (PC) (plastic ID: 7) which contain BPA due to lower cost and widely used worldwide.

Canada already banned all BPA bb bottles few mths ago, US Wal-Mart and Toys R is annouced to phase out all products containing BPA in coming 2009 ( what will happen to those BPA bottles and PC material?? all dump to ASIA ka?? becoz most Asians are low awareness of it???) ......what's our malailand authorities action against BPA contained products? "Maybe they'll ask you, apa tu BPA ar?" :D Some poor Africa countries even use PVC bb teats/pacifier from china maker le.. , joke? no, its truth...
