On behalf of the USJRA/SJ Alert committee, we would like to personally invite YOU to join us at the launch of BALIK KAMPUNG - RUMAH SELAMAT CAMPAIGN by Deputy Inspector General of Police - Tan Sri Hj Ismail bin Omar.

Date : Sunday 14th September 2008
Time : 11.00 am
Venue : Concourse area - The Summit Subang USJ Shopping Complex, Subang

This event will also be attended by:

Selangor CPO - Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar,
OCPD Subang Jaya - Tuan Zainal Rashid bin Hj Abu Bakar
OCS from the participating Balai Polis
Chairman of Selangor branch - Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation, Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah

ADUN Kinrara - YB Teresa Kok
Adun Subang Jaya - YB Hannah Yeoh

This program is coordinated through the IPD Subang Jaya and involves the participation of Balai Polis USJ8, Taipan, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya (SS17) and Bandar Sunway. This "service" is made available to all residents in the township.

As many of you are already aware, residents of USJ/SJ/Putra Heights/Bandar Sunway are welcomed to register their intended absence when they "balik kampung" or go away on holidays during the forthcoming Hari Raya festive season. The police will patrol and keep an eye on their unoccupied homes for the duration of their absence.

As an example, in USJ itself, we are pleased to report that none of the 300+ homes that were registered under this programme during Chinese New Year 2008 experienced any untoward incidents. Only 2 cases (one of stolen bike and another of a house-breakin -- not registered under the BK-RS programme) were reported during that 1st weekend of CNY.

Residents can get the registration forms from:
Balai Polis (USJ8, Taipan, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya (SS17) and Bandar Sunway)
Fill in and submit directly at the participating Balais.

SJ Echo's September 2008 issue
You can use the printed form in September's issue of SJ Echo, drop in your completed form (in a sealed envelope) at the Info Counter at Summit USJ Shopping Complex before Sept 20 -- first 200 registration forms received will get a token gift from Summit USJ Shopping Complex. The good people at the complex (in charge of this task) will then deliver your registration forms to the respective police stations after Sept 20th closing deadline.

Major shopping Complex and Hypermarkets in Subang Jaya.

Download the forms from www.usjra.com or http://www.sjalert.com.my/Balik_Kampung/bk_forms.htm

Once again, please join us -- together as a community we can pool our resources in crime prevention.

Yes, chookyan you can collect the stickers during the launch.

We will be having a special counter for residents to register for SJ Alert SMS and SJ Alert EMS. Those who register for the services will also get the sticker. If you are already registered just identify yourself.

I have to let you know that the stickers are fast running out, but not to worry we are in the process of printing new ones.

As Eileen has mentioned we can pool all our resources in Crime Prevention, let's all make Subang Jaya a safer place to live.

And you are most welcome.

What is Kempen "Balik Kampung - Rumah Selamat" all about?
It's a special service provided by the Police for residents of USJ/SJ/Putra Heights/Bandar Sunway for those planning to "balik kampung" or go away on holidays during the forthcoming Hari Raya festive season. Get the police to keep an eye on your unoccupied home -- for greater peace of mind security-wise. All you have to do is to register using our specially-printed "balik kampung" forms (available at your neighbourhood balai polis or participating shopping complexes/hypermarkets) or register on-line at www.sjalert.com.my.

Did you know?
Earlier this year, during the Chinese New Year festive season, none of the 300+ homes which registered for the "Balik Kampung" police service experienced any untoward incidents. Only 2 incidents were reported during that 1st weekend of CNY -- one of stolen bike and another of a house-breakin (the house-owner did not register for the BK-RS programme.)

Let us, together as a community, pool our resources in crime prevention.

Tell your neighbours and friends about Balik Kampung - Rumah Selamat campaign ... spread the word around.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, Sept 14 @ 11am -- come and meet some friends at the same time!

This Balik Kampung - Rumah Selamat "service" is provided by your friendly neighbourhood Balai Polis, if you are not a resident from the Subang Jaya Area it would really be Balik Kampung saja...period. I do not think that the "service" is provided anywhere else.

If you should Balik Kampung and do not wish to make use of the "service" available, please make sure you

1. Download, read and follow the instructions contained in the Balik Kampung Rumah Selamat Form from here :
http://www.sjalert.com.my/Balik_Kampung/bk_forms.htm
2. Check with your neighbours regularly whilst you are away.

Happy Holidays.
