Hi everyone, I'd like to give you a heads-up on a local charity that needs a helping hand. So if anyone is moving house, or has some extra furniture, or a kettle etc, please consider these people:

Precious Childrens Home shelters 32 children aged 4 to 18. All our children come from families in difficulty. Their parents are struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, domestic violence, are homeless or sometimes just have no money.

With the recent economic difficulties more children are facing the need for shelter, Evelyn and her husband Reverend Dr Robert Paul who run Precious Home have had to expand their work. They have opened a second home and separated the kids into those aged under 13 and those over. But the new place is literally bare boards so it’s a bit of a struggle.

After the split there are 14 kids aged 4 to 12 in the old premises and 18 kids aged 13 to 18 in the new. The children come from various races and backgrounds but they have one thing in common: they all attend school.

What they lack is a regular flow of fresh meat, vegetables and fruit. With all these kids, they need 8 kilos of meat to make a lunch and dinner for everyone.

The new home is also in need of every type of furnishing. They need 7 sets of bunk beds, mattresses, bed sheets, a gas stove, curtains, cupboards, kettle, and furniture like tables and chairs.

Anyone wanting to help make that difference in a child’s life can contact Precious Childrens Home, No. 11, Lorong 3/57A, 46000 Petaling Jaya, Selangor (behind MPPJ Library Petaling Jaya). The new home is at no 35, Jalan 8/18 PJ 46050 (By the police station) Call Evelyn at 016 361 4733 or Robert at 016 231 0081.

And could you pass the word around to friends in PJ? Thanks guys, Ellen
