I will be home early to watch the opening ceremony. Yup...it starts at 8:08pm. ;)

By the way, it is a long weekend for Singapore. Tomorrow is our National Day, hence, Monday is the off-in-lieu. Probably you will see lots of Singaporean travel across the causeway. :D

There were rumors and talk in some local forums, broadcast from RTM can be had in HIGH DEFINITION, but I scanned through the channels on Astro and NONE are in HD..just normal broadcast.

Does that mean Malaysia's time zone is 30 minutes ahead of Beijing
Maybe I should wait for some kind soul to make available opening ceremony on Bittorrent?
In the mean time, I'll have to cool my heels watching this:-
The Ping Pong Song (http://www.youtube.com/tanthechinaman)
And no, it's not Enrique Iglesias ;)

What a shame, we dont even have full daily live telecast for the world biggest event on our TV channels. How do we improve our sports or create interest among youngster if we dont even show the biggest sports event on TV. I believe in the past we get better olympics coverage.

Yup its truly pathetic the way RTM handing this Olympics.
No all day live coverage at all.
Only daily round-up 3-5pm, 11.30-12.30am. Total 3 hours only?!!

& they have the nerve to advertise themselves as THE Olympic channel.
OMG, how backward is that?

Nowadays local TV where got good programmes. Subscribe to Astro which air 24 hours. At times when cannot sleep at night, can come down to watch movies from HBO, Star and Cinemax. Some movies are beyond reach at DVD stores. Astro's sports channel costs less than RM20 per month in addition to the normal subscription.

Cheapsake like me will just download from internet and experience the Olympics in High Definition. :D Well, it kinda slow especially with Screamyx, but it's do-able.

As for local commentary; after donkey years of experience we are still stuck with commentators repeating; "Wah. Pukulan yang cantik. Asakan yang kuat. Pemain nampak letih." As if we can't see!

And don't get me started on the mispronounciation of names. I still remember a certain commentator pronouncing Maurice Green as Mouse Green.
