Had the same question a few months ago. You can do it online at ebay.

I searched in ebay for an estimated value of the coins I have but found that they were not worth that much (yet). So, I don't have any experience yet on this.

I remember that numismatic shops were located in Imbi Plaza many many years ago (don't go there at all since the computer shops moved to LowYatt Plaza).

You should start you search in the Malaysian Numismatic Society (http://www.money.org.my/objective.html) website.
