If not for the delay in delivery of my new house, I would have bought the fridge long time ago. Now I'm looking at the Samsung side-by-side-doors fridge frequently advertised for RM2999.

Looks solid built and consumes little electricity @ 0.65A (I think). Very practical for us too.

Anyone has any advice/comment on this one?

Thanks in advance.

I heard these type of fridge has smaller compartment inside and uses more electric. Nowadays electric tariff has gone up, so better buy those with energy star rating ( 5 star rating ). 5 star rating fridge are tested and certified that it can save more than 25% of electric compared to normal fridge.

Thanks tsd. Only now, noticed your posting. This fridge consumes only 0.7A only (or around that) . That's one reason that attracts me. The others equivalent size consume 1.3A. Mitsubishi 0.9A.

My wife n me was looking for a fridge to replace our old fridge. We bought a Toshiba, there is a sticker on the toshiba 480Litre, saying it uses 616.85kW of electric for a year. So with the new tariff, it comes to about RM16 for each month. So far we are very satistifed with the fridge, vege and fruits stays quite fresh in the fridge.
