There's been many conflicting views.
On the whole inplementation has been slow.
Some scientist has come up with a research claiming that the radio frequency is harmful since it's higher than cell phones.

There were a lot of writeups in theStar like - P1 (http://star-techcentral.com/tech/story.asp?file=/2008/5/1/technology/1116537&sec=technology) (1st May 08), P1 (http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/5/2/business/21127116&sec=business) (2 May 08), P1 again (http://star-techcentral.com/tech/story.asp?file=/2008/6/17/itfeature/1410631&sec=itfeature) (17June08), YTL (http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/6/20/business/21603832&sec=business) (today). Looks like P1 (Green Packet) is most likely to be the one to launch ahead of the others.

According to the Star today, wimax is available to some parts of Subang. Anyone knows how to sign up?

P1 has been available at Asia Cafe for a while now, meaning since last year coz that's when i was sitting there surfing the web for free after getting a password for it via their website.
At the time, their connection was rather good. I supposed it can be considered rather stable and of decent speed, unlike my Maxis3G connection. It's great to know that wifi services are going somewhere, finally.

My guess is that P1 was doing a trial run in SS15 last year, so it was running on Wifi at Asia cafe. All i had to do was switch on the laptop, it detected P1, open up the browser and P1 website appears, get the free password and use it. Once u get it, the next time i went again, it was automatically detected and logged in.
Completely free at the time. I don't know if P1 is still giving free access at Asia cafe now though. Been a long time already.
