How to change ownership of apartment?

My friend and hubby bought a first floor unit above the shoplots five or 6 yrs ago. Before she got the keys to the apartment, her husband passed away. She got the LA from court and paid up and got the keys. She informed the developer that hubby had passed away and asked them to change to one ownership now that hubby is gone. Nothing has been done and now 5 years has passed by.

Question:

What are the procedures she should undertake to transfer the unit to her name?
How much would it costs...estimate?
She is not working, was renting out the unit to live on ,so money is a large concern.

Can someone tell me where she can go to settle her problem? She is in Klang and her unit is in Bukit Tinggi. Any help would be much appreciated.

Since you mentioned that LA has been granted, I presume there is a lawyer looking at her matter, who should also go on to complete the transfer of ownership of all property(ies) to the rightful recipient named in the LA ?

Q1: as Developer is still in the picture, I presume the unit has no title yet - show Developer the LA and ask lawyer to write in to Developer requesting for thier internal procedures to effect such transfer. Developer may reply with list of procedures & may charge a sum for administrating the transfer.

Q2: Dpds on value of property, she may also need to consider legal fees

Q3: husband left any EPF monies behind ? or fund it through rental of the unit or loan from relatives or something...

The LA is already more than 5 years old, is it still valid ? The developer did not start the process when told to do so 5 years ago and my friend did not pursue the matter. Now that she wants to sell the property, she needs to effect the change.

Is it possible to get a new lawyer to do this using the old LA?

Once the court has granted an LA is valid until it's revoked by the Court...strictly speaking, you dont need to ask your frd to approach another lawyer (cost - legal fees) unless is your frd or something...

Just ask her to go back to her lawyer who did the LA...
