Hi guys, i normally do not post in the forums much but i really wanna rant here so kindly allow me to.

It is about bus drivers. I don't know about many of you, but for those of you out there who pay attention during jams and traffic congestion, you will realize that in some cases, it's caused by busses.

YES! Busses! The very thing that is supposed to be an answer to our traffic woes when people say "Take public transport and the jams will be reduced". My FOOT! I boycott busses because they are normally driven by idiot-moronic brained people with little or no education that could not care less about the public and traffic conditions.

Let me give you a few examples. For those of you working in KL that have to take the federal highway to and fro everyday right up till the roundabout near the chinese temple near Petaling Street, you will know what i mean. After working hours, there's normally a jam that starts sometimes from the roundabout or from the palace and it will cease after the intersection that cuts to mid valley/cheras.

Now, I have been observing this jam and there are 2 reasons for it. Firstly, the girls Chinese Girls' School along the federal highway attracts idiotic-moronic brained parents that will double/triple park just to ensure that their precious children do not have to walk no more than 10 steps out of the school gate to their expensive driver-driven cars. But this problem only occurs after school hours and in the wee hours of the morning.

The more prevalent part of the jam is because the BUSSES stop at a bus stop, not 1 bus but i have noticed 2 busses stopping side by side, blocking off the entire taxi/bus lane forcing taxis/busses to cut into the public lanes causing the jam.

The other area is the famous federal highway "Sesak dari PJ Hilton ke persimpangan LDP" jam. There are a few factors to this jam. Cars cutting from right to left at the last moment to make it to LDP from the federal highway and busses stopping at the side near Guinness Anchor blocking cars that are trying to cut into the federal highway from NPE. Next time when you are stuck in this crawl, look out your window and notice the busses, you will realize that the jam starts to clear immediately after the bus stop in front of Guinness Anchor.

The other jam is at the SS19 road. This one makes my blood boil. I still cannot understand WHY is that traffic light still being used for cars to turn right into SS19 from the main road (Persiaran Tujuan? Kewajipan? not too sure). Why can't the enforce all cars to go straight down over the overhead bridge into USJ and U-turn back to get to SS19? That would immediately solve the problem of the jam by reducing 1 traffic light. Notice that there are also some idiots from SS18 that will immediately cut across the road from the SMSU junction just to make it for that SS19 traffic light, adding to the jam after school hours.

OK, so you may ask me, how're the busses involved here?

Simple, these idiotic-moronic no-brained drivers will stop on the main road here at 2 places, one in front of SMSU at the overhead bridge and the other at the SS19 traffic light to drop and pick passengers. Notice, there's also NO bus stop in that area. They are stopping smack right on the public road halting all cars and traffic behind them.

There are so many more areas where these busses attribute to jams such as in front of the 3K complex, in Jalan Genting Klang where i work and many other areas in KL.

I'm just frustrated. Thanks to all for reading my post. I hope someone who shares the same opinions about things with me will one day voice out my frustrations. As of now, I am moving to Kepong. I'm sick of Subang Jaya. I'm sick of these bus drivers and jams.

If i am not mistaken, you are talking about JLn Syed Putra near Kuen Cheng school where the buses stop side by side on 2 lanes on a 3 lane road, just before reaching Midvalley section. I always thought that the bus stop should be moved if the buses can followed basic rules. Stop at one lane and move on, rather than waiting for more passengers to arrive. Sometimes the buses think that they are king of the roads.

Sometimes the buses think that they are king of the roads.

But they are....

... unless you dare chase them, block them with your car, come down with the stainless steel steering lock... and confront them head-on !! for cutting into your lane [almost forcing you into another vehicle on your right!]

one Metrobus driver recently found out how angry one USJ father got, recently in USJ 8 !!!

I hv witnessed the Metrobus drivers doing their mad stuff in Jalan Ampang and once I saw 2 bikers who got mad (dunno what made them mad though) but they chased after the bus and smashed the bus rear tail lights with helmets, went infront of the bus stopped it and went up the bus to challenge the driver to a fight.

I was guessing it would happen like that for along time as the drivers drive like they own the roads and in such a dangerous manner. They banned the mini busses due to this menace but they failed to realize that all the ex-minibus drivers are now driving normal busses without any change in their attitudes. Should have banned the drivers instead.

"Take public transport and the jams will be reduced". <-- This seems impossible, if the public transport is not good, how to reduce?

By the way, if you try to take bus once in Jakarta, Bangkok, or Shenzen you will feel USJ bus is very good, haha.

"idiotic-moronic no-brained drivers" <-- I like this description, haha.

"Take public transport and the jams will be reduced". <-- This seems impossible, if the public transport is not good, how to reduce?.If you dont take public transport the companies get no money and they have to hire bad drivers at low pay. If you take rapidKL the company gets money and they have to hire bad drivers at high (nett RM2000/month) pay!

Public transport is a MESS!

Cheers, m

Has anyone ever seen the police stop a bus full of passengers before because the driver has broken a law? Such as stopping in the middle of the road to pick-up/drop-off passengers?

I think not. But the police are always stopping unsuspecting people at dangerous corners to "summon" them for what wrongs. Why can't the police take note and stop those who violate the law clearly?

Until our enforcement improves (if ever?does anyone think that the recent change in government will help?), our only hope is: Patience and Drive Defensively.
