Biodiesel use for our engine, anyone?

Hi,

As you all know that Petrol price is raising and raising... Have anyone here know more about biodiesel?

Biodiesel refers to a non-petroleum-based diesel fuel, typically made by transesterification of vegetable oils or animal fats, which can be used (alone, or blended with conventional petrodiesel) in unmodified diesel-engine vehicles.

Biodiesel is distinguished from the straight vegetable oil (SVO) (aka "waste vegetable oil", "WVO", "unwashed biodiesel", "pure plant oil", "PPO") used (alone, or blended) as fuels in some converted diesel vehicles. "Biodiesel" is standardized as mono-alkyl esters and other non-diesel fuels of biological origin are not included.

Malaysia is a main country to contribute Palm oil to the world, it seems like gonna have a very bright future for this. Any opinion?

Unfortunately, there is no engine that runs on bio-diesel at the moment. You may try alternative energy saving engines though, such as LNG, or Hybrid.

If I am not wrong biofuel is basically ethanol. Let me find you the article that says that the creation of ethanol uses so much green-house gas generating technologies that the whole purpose of using biofuel is actually contributing to global warming. There is actually no free lunch.

By the way, you cannot use this biofuel in its entirety - only a small percentage is mixed to normal diesel.
