Today at around lunch time, I went there with my colleague for lunch. We reached there at about 12.15pm. Then we ordered set lunch, thinking of it will be faster. But is not. Those who came later than us, got their food first. Even the table next to us who came about 30 mins later also got their food.

Then when I asked one of the staff there, with an immediate respond 'On the way'. How could she know that my food is on the way without checking. Then I called for the manager, instead of apologizing, he pushing the blame away to the kitchen. Blaming them for the delay or for the mixed up. Then finally after 1 hour, the food came.

This could be an one off incident that happen to me over there, but I do not know how many people also faces the same situation as me.

To me as long you can give me a good answer or an immediate apology instead of pushing the blame away then I am ok with it.

I am trying to find the email so that I can write in to officially complaint about this.

Anyone have similiar problems over at Sri Melaka Restaurant?

I've got the same prob too.. esp with the manager..

In Feb when i went for lunch with my parents, the noodles took a long time to reach.. nevermind bout that.. since it's packed. Ordered kapitan chicken but the gave other fried chicken, which was raw and also a lil sour and stale.. called the manager, the manager blamed it on the kitchen without even apologising and all. Told that he will replace with the same type of dish which we said no to. Ordered something else which came extremely later. Manager not really professional.. the service industry is getting lousier day by day.

This is my favourite eating place when i am at AmCorp. i luv the food...ya at times when the crowd is big it does take some time for the food to arrive or maybe due to some slip up, but then these things do happen to many other busy resturants too. The service is good too. Its worth waiting for the food and btw there many other less busy resturants here too.

when come to restaurant they have to be professional, they must have a system when come to serving customer. must have proper planning in serving. no matter your restaurant is pack with people or not.

for example, Look at Paris Restaurant, always pack with people, but you can get your food in less than 30 mins...and if late, the boss there apologize and immediately get things done...and not blaming on others... even the worker there also did apologize

for example, Look at Paris Restaurant, the one behind SS2, with the boss taking care of parking?
Famous Marmite pork?

If you don't like the food and service, then don't eat there. wait! I'm not being sarcastic. What I mean is, we should really stop going there or they'll never wise up.

Sri Melaka at Amcorp is the worst of their chain of restaurants in terms of service. The branch in 1Utama new wing is not as bad but it is already pretty slow by some standards. Tmn Tun branch is better than these 2 but generally, the service staff in restaurants nowadays..... *shake head.

I can tell the service level of a restaurant by the looks of the staff, if it is that kind of lethargic ppl, I will stay far far away.

Mebbe we could suggest to the mods to have a thread - "compliments/complaints" :p where we can always pop in to see where places to avoid... ;) therefore not flooding the main forum...

Should rename the topic as Unpleasant Dining Experience... I thought it was a strange name for an eatery until I read the whole thing. :p

Unpleasure dining experience... hey man you got fried chicken not cooked properly in place of kapitan chicken that came 30 minutes late and you call it "unpleasure experience"?

Walk out and never return, thats what I will do, you think they dare to stop you for not paying?

I think most Malaysians are quite forgiving which is why many restaurants can get away with murder. They'd still cough out and pay even if they had any unpleasant experience. Believe it!. :D

Try Puchong YTF and see how long you wait at peak dinner time.. half hour for the food to come is likely the earliest. Certainly not for those who have no patience or a terribly hungry person.

To tell anyone the truth, if anyone knows what "fast food" means (say at MacD) is how fast one gets the food, paid and to the mouth. Should they tell you "Please sir, can you wait for 5 to 10 mins..we're still cooking", ITS CRIMINAL!. :D YES!..that happens in Malaysia!.

We had the worst experience there when we threw a farewell lunch for a colleague. There were only 12 of us there and by the time the last person who unfortunately happened to be me got my food, it was nearly an hour since we sat down at the table. And those who know me, my storylines at dinner table is more than the dog's fur (Hokkien saying) luckily I was able to entertain them and could bear the long wait.

The food served there is something great to shout about - but at their staff for their poor service. Beside the famous adage where we are advised to never quarrel with the cook, I also have another one for you here. Never patronise a restaurant which has problem recruiting their kitchen staff. The food is simply cooked by Tom, Dick (I don't kindda trust this name) and Harry and I shudder to think how clean are their kitchen area.

Bottom line, I fully agree with Chewie and eversince then, we just told our office colleagues of the bad dining experience there. No, I won't say it is a dining experience but rather a whining experience.

there was one incident where I craving for fried kueh teow, I thought how bad can a cook be, so I simply go to the nearest hawker stall to ta pau.

Then some Burmese worker takes my order and started to cook. From the start of his cooking, I knew I am in trouble. Parts of the fried kueh teow looks white, some part looks burnt, some still sticking to each other, prawns were also half black, half white. I just cannot tahan continue looking at the way he cook... I just look somewhere else and then after he struggled to pack that packet of keuh teow goreng, I just paid and leave. When I reach home, just a few bite into the fried kueh teow, I just cant go on. I know its a sin to waste but I got no choice but to throw it away.

Do you think I will ever go back to that place ever again ? Whoever owns that stalll really knows how to lose their customer.

Ahhhhh ... Malaysians LOVES to eat and therefore, M'sians also love to complaint. Hehehe .. pretty standard in everyone. I for one, cannot stand long wait for my food esp when I'm really truly hungry unless the place I go to I know how long I need to wait, and how good is the food and whether worth waiting or not. Place like Sri Melaka ... I've neva really tried before and I don't think I'll ever go there also.

There was once, I went in and sat down during lunch time in Pj State. There wasn't that many people during that time but we sat down for more than 5 mins and no one came to our table & take orders. So we decided to just get up and walk out of the shop when the captain was about to come near us & take down our orders.

Totally unprofessional with their service and yet they have been around for such a long time too. I can't imagine how they could last/survive so long here with their bad service and worst part is they have few branches around. Last time just 1 shop in PJ State and that's all.
