School heads in Penang have been instructed or “advised” not to invite State Government leaders and elected representatives from the DAP-PKR as VIPs and guests-of-honour.

Yup, typical UMNOputra sore loser behaviour.
Look at how they treat the Sultan of Trengganu.
On the bright side our BR people can get down to straighten the mess left behind.
I suppose you have not seen the kids school books?

It's a good idea.
Those high ranked officials from the State Education Dept can go & officiate those functions themselves & claim mileage for their effort.

Who put up the directive to school heads? If it comes from the state education director then he has no business doing that as he is a government servant and is answerable to the government of the day, namely the DAP-PKR-PAS coalition. Even if it comes from the Director General of Education, a government servant, he should also be apolitical. Guess it shoulds how much UMNO politics has pervaded the whole

They can teach our kids how to carry bags of cash overseas, raising keris to kill another human, do demonstrations like real beruk on the street and grow up to be Mat Rempit to be our sore eyes & ears to keep peace for Malaysia :D

This has been going on for decades. Schools in constituencies represented by non-BN parties have always been "advised" not to invite their elected representatives to any function. They seem to think that the schools are build with their (BN's) own money.

in this country Bn = government.civil service servants are to serve the people and the government of the day -not erstwhile politicians .whoever in whatever capacity issuing such uncalled for directives should be shown the door
i think the government of the day in penang should reprimand and sacked the mischievous officer if indeed the state educaation department is run on funds provided by the state government

The opposition(BN) are playing the racial cards and now they're poking their nose in the education system. The last time I heard they wanted to implement a system for the private sector to have a quota system. Bloody SOB!

Unfortunately funds for schools come from the federal govt. All teachers and education dept staff are federal employees. So nothing much the state govt can do about it.

It does not help the image of this country to have a biased civil service. Politics is for parliament and the executive to deal with. The purpose of the Civil Service is to serve the people.

Again the civil service has been brainwashed into thinking that their salary comes from the govt that equals BN therefore they must vote BN in elections. The concept of "government of the day" does not exist in Malaysia yet. So you see Najib and even some senior officers who should know better telling the Armed Forces personnel that they must show their "loyalty" to the country by voting BN. They have forgotten that the oath of loyalty is to the king and country, BN nowhere mentioned.

and that is a good reason to recite, teach, understand, and appreciate values like the rukun negara

...On the bright side our BR people can get down to straighten the mess left behind...Actually, this is quite true. The priority for the Barisan Rakyat govt is NOT to attend PR events. The recent election has shown us that ADUNs with thick catalogues of such events are still rejected. Instead, the priority is to get the entire state machinery to SERVE and prosper the Rakyat.

aliran asked this question...
Aliran would like the Minister of Education to clarify publicly whether he condones the stand taken by the Penang State Deputy Director of Education. It is a clarification that he owes to the people of Malaysia and which is anxiously awaited by all caring and concerned Malaysians.

let's see if kerismudin's parry, block and thrust tactics...
