KOMAS (Pusat Komunikasi Masyarakat) Freedom Film Festival 2008 is on! The FFF2008 is an annual film competition and screening event organized by KOMAS since 2003 and it is the only film festival of its kind in Malaysia, focusing on social and human rights issues in our nation.
This year's Freedom Film Fest was launched in Feb 2, 2008 and has since opened submission of film proposals for the competition component of the Festival. The deadline for entries is on March 31st 2008.
The best three proposals will be awarded a RM5,000 grant each and will be supported by KOMAS to make their human rights story a reality. The winning films will also be screened in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Baru and Sarawak during the film screenings weeks of the festival.
KOMAS, with the School of Communication and the Film Appreciation Club, will be conducting a road show and screening of previous winners at the Taylor’s College Petaling Jaya campus next week:
