Employing a responsible and good maid does not matter where she originates.its like striking a lottery.

fully agree with firefox. a halal lottery for the muslims :D

my neighbor employs a cambodian maid, up till now haven't heard much complaint except on the language factor. when she first got here, there was a time when she had to get one of her employer's kids to talk to us to help with her employers' car alarm which had been blaring all morning. her employers weren't in at that time. luckily it was only the car alarm, it'll be more worrisome if it's an emergency and she couldn't really say or call for help.

Some of these cambodian maids can speak some english but they are also, very street smart which may not be good for you. :(

If you dont strike lottery, you just trow away the tickets and that's it. But when you get a bad one - you get headaches or heartaches.

An advise..pls spend some $ and time to get your own private urine test done when maid arrives. Don't learn the hard way like me. My Indon maid of 1 year didnt pass her fomema test. She later told me she always had this urine infection (not infectious disease) so she used another's to get through. Same trick when she reached here for fomema! Brought her to a gynae, nothing wrong there so... I gave up! She went home, we spent money for another maid..Cambodian. Now fending till new maid comes. Cross fingers and toes!

You have been tricked. All bacteria and virus are infectious. Only immune allergies are not infectious.

The last time I went to Indonesia, I had a cup of plain water from a eatery shop and got serious diarrhea. It seems that Indonesians don't know what is call hygiene.

The report can't be wrong that cambodians are more docile.

Thanks Pucman. Pretty scary. Don't want to imagine what's wrong. She was healthy, cheerful and ok whilst here. Anyway, it's a little 'water under the bridge' now. Will have new maid checked out first for sure.
