This morning on Feb 24 2008 many of my neighbours in USJ 6 had a rude awakening. Their metal drain covers were stolen during the night! I did a rough survey and found that 9 covers were stolen. So, secure your drain covers. I was lucky because my pomeranian barked during the night and deterred them from stealing my drain cover.http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii127/besitai/IMGP3770.jpg

if law enforcerments were tough in the first place, all this would not have happened.

They should fix those that are designed that can be bolted or welded down permanently. Might as well permanent as they hardly or never maintain the drains anyway. When I tiled my driveway, I tiled over it..so NO chance of theft. To all house owners..I suggest you spend a few bucks to get them BOLTED DOWN permanently. Better for long term and "fong sum!".

That is one very good way but OUR money still goes to waste.
we pay our tax money hoping enforcers would enforce whatever law, possession of stolen properties, controlling of scrap iron dealers, etc but no positive outcome. Then when our vehicles drop into some manhole, we waste money repairing our cars. then when some patented design for manhole covers is revealed, a contract is given out to that company to supply the manhole cover.

All these could have been avoided if enforcers enforce.

Oh, I forgot to mention that we pay tax money and we still have to purchase some sort of locks to ensure the manhole cover does not go missing.

They should make manholes out of concrete and btw i hear they even steal gates that are kept unlock.

Also apparently in USJ9 area. Someone i know in the area told me he found a whole pile of these drain covers in a house in the area, covered with a black tarp. He lost his, so he took one, and another one for his neighbour, then called the police. I'm sure the police said ... "umm ... ok ... kita sekarang sibuk .... pilihanraya sudah dekat ... cari adik sharlini ... kita pun tadak masa tau ..."
