I'm currently using Public Bank, savings and current account. Public bank charge me every month RM10.00 for my current account. I seldom use my
current account, still sometimes i need to issue cheque. Anyone knows which bank does not charge for current account?

RM10.00 x12 = RM120.00! I can use this money to goto spa, better isn't it, why give to bank?

Its FOC if you can keep a minimum of RM3000 in your PBB current account.

It's free if you can have minimum RM1,000 for RHB Bank's Current Account.
Therefore, usually I will issue my cheques after the 15th of each month (the time they print the statement ), and my balance is less than $1K at times :D

(As long as you have min $1K on the statement, they will not charge any fee)

Man, you gotta be fair. Would you give someone service free of charge? A bank is a business and it has to show profits to it's shareholders. Where do you think PBB's RM2bil net profit came from?
Besides, money you put with the bank is a liability to them.
I currently bank with RHB and they only require min 1k to waive the charges. You can check that out.

The last time, service charge per year for PBB is RM60.
Now by charging monthly, they quietly raised it to RM120.

BUT if you have OD facility, you can request the branch to waive it permanently.

I use OCBC.... they have what they call a Swap (or is it Swoop) A/c... Basically when ever the Current A/c needs any money to cover cheques issued, it'll auto transfer from my Saving A/c. They do not charge for this... my current a/c is always almost zero... which is good since any balance in current a/c dont earn any interest unlike savings a/c

Every bank nowadays also charge a small sum of fee. For instance, this CIMB since last time has been practising to charge / deduct directly from user savings account for the yearly maintenance of the atm card for RM12. Then when our card spoilt or lost they charge another time for the atm card for RM12. Altho monthly they do give interest to our savings account but even with that I don't think is enough to cover back the yearly RM12 we give them.

Even for Maybank, if card replacement they only charge RM5 but if its spoilt due to certain reason; they replace it for free. As for current account, I don't know much cos I've not own any current account before. But from what I heard, Maybank don't charge.

I have this Premier Savings acct with Maybank for the past 15 or 16 years.
Its a savings cum current account and yes, I have to maintain a minimum 1k monthly and the monthly fee is RM 5...so far since day 1.
And I have the online banking facilities so I am actually quite pleased with them :D

Apart from RM10 once (possibly for half yearly fee), I have not paid anything. This is Premier (current account which pays savings interest) but at basic current account fees (RM10 half-yearly? or less). For the internet users, a Maybank officer told me not to bother going for even their normal Premier once we have this.

This account that you mentioned, isn't it called I-account in Maybank2u? I've heard about that and I find it no use to me also that's why I didn't apply for it.

This account that you mentioned, isn't it called I-account in Maybank2u? ...Yes - changed name last year. I believe this is a legacy of Phileo Bank except that the charges for banking over-the-counter was dropped.
