One-way Slip road from Kesas Highway into USJ1

A one-way slip road which starts from the Kesas Highway to head towards USJ 1, just behind The Summit is expected to be built. This project is aimed at reducing the expected increase in traffic along Jalan Kewajipan, especially with the completion of the Kelana-Subang Link which is due to be completed by the end of this year.

This is good news but i wonder, why one-way into USJ 1 from Kesas??? Will there be another slip road out of USJ 1 to Kesas Highway? I would think it is common sense to build slip roads into and out of USJ 1 to Kesas so as to reduce the traffic jam at the traffic junction in front of Summit. This is a heavy traffic spot during peak hours and the situaton will only get worse. Perhaps i am missing somthing here??

yup. i agree with you. they should have a 2 way. this will reduce traffic jam. One way into USJ 1 wil just make USJ 1 more congested.

To make it worst, development in the pipeline are USJ 1 Avenue condo, Mosque beside petronas, 2 condos near giant/mydin and commercial lot opposite mydin.

Another exit out from USJ 1 will definitely help to ease jam.Otherwise, resident in USJ 1 will go crazy. :)

Johndee, perhaps we could raise this issue during the meeting on the SJ/USJ draft plan. I think they are going to have another meeting shortly.

I do not agree with the link, nor do I agree with the proposal to extend it past the bottleneck at the Kewajipan-KESAS interchange.

The best solution is to reduce (note: "eliminating" the bottleneck is too much to ask for) the bottleneck at the Kewajipan-KESAS interchange.

This can be accomplished by:

*building the exit from KESAS to USJ 1 as a 2-way road

*building the proposed interchange at Jalan Tujuan

*building a bridge (with or without toll) from PJS11 (Bandar Sunway) to USJ1

*building u-turn ramps over the KESAS highway to the east and west of the Kewajipan interchange

*eliminating right turns at the KESAS-Kewajipan interchange...all traffic trying to access KESAS will need to turn left and use the u-turn ramps if necessary

By combining these 5 projects, the bottleneck at the KESAS-Kewajipan interchange will be reduced to a bearable level.

These 5 projects would be commissioned by the local and state governments, not the federal government. This would have added political benefits for the local councillors and ADUN,while our local MP will still have the Subang-Kelana link to point to for his own benefit
