Since the MP position for Labis is now vacant following the resignation of Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek, I guess the voters in Labis will be able to derive some benefits in the form of urgent and immediate attention to all social development programs very soon??

Unless of course, a General Election is held soon, we should see a by election.

AND, surely this will be the final barometer to gauge the rakyat's sentiment...

Under the Constitution, no need for a by-election, lah. What-lah you :p .

And elections will not be in March 2008 as everyone is speculating.

People are speculating elections will be in March this year due to the 'Anwar factor' as after the mid of April, he will eligible to contest, not before.

But, due to so much 'bad news' these last few months, the BN has to, now, 'neutralise' all these 'suay factors' before holding an election & that will take time as Malaysians mudah lupa.

According to the 'grapevine', the earliest the elections will be held will be towards the end of this year, if not, early next year (if more 'suay factors turn up later, then, that's another story).

Anyway, Anwar is finished politically & BN would prefer Anwar to contest so that Anwar can 'desabuse' himself about his popularity if he were to lose. Anwar has more to lose if he loses.

i dont think the march 2008 election will be about anwar. the govt will want to have the election as soon as possible because they need to raise petrol prices soon. they can't do it before an election. remember that high petrol prices has brought down the suharto govt in indonesia. what more malaysia?
