So much publicity pertaining to one 'DAMAI MALAYSIA' who claim to be a grouping of 395 NGO's and with a alleged 1.5 million membership? :p :D

I am curious because they claim to represent me too!

Who are they really? Real or the usual 'phantoms' :D

If indeed 1.5 million membership???? - perhaps, they should go help our DPM at the floodwaters in Pahang!

Friends any infor on their claims and locus? :)

I consider myself part of the silent majority, silently rooting for changes and reforms. And how can this DAMAI shout they are representing the silent majority i.e. ME? Who the fish are they?

I picked out a book from my personal collection titled 'Tiananmen: The rape of Peking' (Fathers, Michael et.al. Tiananmen. London: Independent in association with Doubleday, 1989.)

The Introduction begins with this paragraph:

"Anyone should be allowed to speak out, whoever he may be, as long as he is not a hostile element." With this maxim, in 1945, Mao Tse-tung defined the limits of democracy in Communist China.

Dear Dr J. George - from http://malaysianunplug.blogspot.com/2007/12/reality-check-on-damai-malaysia.html

..."The mastermind behind DAMAI MALAYSIA is ...Reezal Merican Naina Merican of GPMS ... Political Secretary to Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi"...

..."Damai Malaysia, a coalition of 395 non-governmental organizations has been initiated by UMNO and MCA politicians in Kuala Lumpur"...

lots of references, have fun reading :D

In one of the newspaper, it was reported:-

Damai advisor and Bukit Bintang MCA chief Senator Datuk Dr Lee Chong Meng.........

this statement would speak volumes of who they represent. A Barisan appointed senator as its advisor and yet they claimed to be NGO and represent the independent silent majority!

Nope. I never heard of this group called Damai. I voted, accordingly.
