Of late there is a cat that has been leaving its droppings every day right in the middle of my front door (wishing me good mornin!) for the past 1 week or so. I tried waking up early a few days trying to catch the fella in the act, but the days I wake up the cat never turns up. Sometimes it follows erratic timings and the job is done even before I can stand guard to catch the culprit red-handed. Today it totally surprised me by delivering a fresh package in the evening!

Has anyone had experience tackling such inconsiderate cats before? If so please share some tips and tricks to get rid of this daily menace. Is there something like an Animals for Unethical Treatment of People where I can lodge a complaint?

A very distressed fellow forumer.

Try sprinkle some vinegar around ur garden, the smell of vinegar would keep them away. Do this every 2-3 days.

Get a dog for a couple of days.

Thanks much! HnKuon and Simon for your tips. The Vinegar seems to be a more viable option for me right now :) Have a great weekend!

ullas,
this cat poo thingy was discussed some time last year on the forum..and i'll repeat what i posted then..
place empty coke bottles ( only the classic not diet coke!) around your compound and the cats will not poo at your place..they'll still pass thru but would not poo.. sounds ridiculous isn't it..give it a shot cos they do work!.. :D by the way only coke k..other soft drinks don't work! :D

Although Orchi has been deploying another method to counter their 'sniper' attacks...which can be quite effective...but some has referred to Orchi's method as hostile n crude...which can be potentially hazardous to both the cats n humans...so Orchi is thinking of using...err...alternative friendlier or diplomatic method to deter them.

Are you referring to the plastic Coke bottles? large or small? n how far apart are the bottles to be placed between each other...? when one has a larger compound...does it mean that...one has to place as many Coke bottles...like to surround the entire compound?

Else...Orchi may have to resort back to using...the hostile method...:D

I've noticed cats and other animals hate strong smelling stuff, such as vinegar, concentrated lemon floor cleaner, pepper powder and chilli powder. Just cover the area with any of the above mentioned items every 2 days or so.

I've actually tried pepper and chilli powder, works wonders. Just sprinkle a lot around the area where the cat usually frequents. Pepper is better if you dont want your porch tiles to stain.

Good luck.
