after getting my link light to stabilise on the DB102 modem, now i still cant connect to streamyx. according to TM, my account was activated on 14/9/07.
i have called TM numerous times for trouble shooting, but still fail to connect. all TM can do now is to make a report and monitor my streamyx line as to why i still cant connect.
TM will not send technician over as they said they need to solve the problem at the port. dont know what that means.
anyone has experienced this before? am frustrated that i cant get broadband after almost 3 weeks since application.
As mention earlier if you can't talk to the router you would not be able to connect to streamyx....
There are some manual step that you'll have to verify by directly accessing the router at 192.168.1.1
First of all , do you get a response for username and password from your router when you enter the router ip 192.168.1.1 through your browser..?

no, i dont get a response for username and password when i enter the router ip.
i have configured my laptop earlier, and it asked for username and password. but after configuring, i still cant get my laptop to talk to my modem.

What do you mean 'but after configuring, I still can't get my laptop to talk to my modem.'
Is it that you have entered the wrong username and password ..?
The default username n password is 'admin' n 'admin' respectively and it is case sensitive.
The following file did mentioned that it may be 'tmadmin' also.....
Can you read this pdf file of the router config....
http://www.riger.com.my/SmartConfig.pdf
Just notice that this may seems to be the setup for the for tmnet supplied router..???
If all else fail you can always take the laptop n router to someone for help establishing the pc to router ethernet link first....

I hope I am not wrong. But is your modem with or without router? I believe a router is the one where you can store your username & password and vice versa.
If yours is without then you need to install a special program from TMNET. I think everytime you wanna log on to streamyx, probably you need to type in username and password.
that's what i think.

maybe you could try one last thing before you go tomorrow. RESET the modem and retry all the steps again.
I wish you luck

Just make sure the laptop can talk to the router n you'll most probably be fine. Better still they can log in to streamyx if they have a streamyx connection using their password. After that you'll have to access the router to change back to your own password.
Do keep updated for some of the readers here of what actually went wrong in the setup process. You may need those skill if you change to a new router one day.
If you're nearer in usj there will be someone including me that may be able to help you verify those stuff.

Just a short note to highlight a probable problem. I was updating the MSN messenger for my kids over the weekend. Right fter the installation I lost the connection to Streamyx. Checked with Telekoms and so forth. Finally rebooted the PC and guess what ... I got a message saying that the PC detected a network card....this means I lost connection the the network card, the reason for the disconnection.
What actually happened was that the installation process killed the driver for my network card and thus I lost connection to Streamyx. Therefore, as CCY had rightly said, check your connectivity to the router. Somewhere along the line, something was not properly installed, hence the lack of connectivity and in most cases, the problem is actually at your peripherals, not Streamyx.

I had the same problem and I know exactly how you feel. Once you connection issues are sorted, you will have another headache ---> the bill. Keep an audit trail of events that occur, report numbers and names of people you speak to.
In my case, TM is unable to justify their bill. Matter is still outstanding.

I also face another stupid problem with streamyx. Last mth applied for streamyx but the tel no i used was a recycle no, and the previous owner already registered with streamyx. Took them a mth to correct this problem and i hd to complain up to the GM's office before action was taken.
Then last wed, collected my modem immediately after they solved my tel problem. They told me within 48 hrs, the blinking will be stabilise and if it doesn't try to connect direct instead of using the splitter.
It has been a week and the link is still blinking and i called up streamyx yesterday and they told me they will check their jumper?? what is that?
Csv told me in the system, it showed ok.
