View Full Version : Cambodian vs Indon maids...
Hi all,
Just wanted to get all your opinions about maids as I am thinking of employing a Cambodian maid. Anybody has any experience with them? Are they better than the Indon maids. Appreciate your inputs.
Jey.

Try to get myanmar or thai maids first. There are many myanmar guys working in coffee shops and I have heard good stories on them. Hard working and honest.
Have seen myanmar guys .. but havent seen thais yet.

not really. I have a friend who's Cambodian maid ran away with Indon or is it locals. They do run away.
Somebody should find out what is the reason why these maids are so fond of running away

If there is communication problem or religious incompatibility, the chances of running away is slim.

guess communication will work out on its own after the initial setbacks...religous compatibility....not sure if there is a concern abt this. We are Christians by the way...Cambods are predominantly Budhists. Will this be a reason for running away?

my friend is buddhist and she is christian and the maid ran away.

tee...could there be other reasons besides the religous devide? I mean if they ran away because of that, they would have known right beofre they left Cambodia that they could be working for a non-Budhist family right? But I also heard Indon muslim maids running and also Indon Christian maids running and then the Filipinas running... so I beleive the religeon is excluded as a possible reason for that problem. The maids must be very ultra-religous to run away coz of religeous difference.
mmmm...

I can also vouch for another case of a runaway Khmer maid - early August - was working for an expat European family. Waited for the boss to be out of town and the kids sent to school by the driver - and scampered.

Forrest Gump's mum said...Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get.
No difference in hiring of maids, regardless of where they come from.
