Hi, I need your help. My new house is under renovation by a contractor. Unfortunately, I am not satisfy with his work.

1. No wire used in between bricks
2. Using 'used wood' for the structure of roof
3. Calculate wrongly the position of roof beams causing a gap in between roof beam and roof
4. Not including the space for ekzos fan in building the wall, causing lack of space for ekzos fan

He refuses to make any changes and keep asking me to trust his job. His reason is it will be strong for 10 years. But what i want is foe 30 or 40 years usage.

Please advise. Thanks.

Dun easily trust the contractor.

I have extended my back yard & roofing a few years back. The contractor cheated me by using lousy wood to hold the roof tiles. About one year later, termites attacked the wood & the roof fell down.

It was obvious that the contractor used the inferior quality wood & being attacked by termite. Other existing wood part of the house was spared.

If you are not satisfy with his work, voice out until he satisfies you while the work is still on going. And dun be easily satisfy with his 'cin cai cin cai bo cai' work. You will suffer later.

And, you must not pay him 100% after he completed the job. Hold for approx 20%, and pay after 6 months. At least, you have something to fall back, should the work 'collapsed' :D
