This month is the month of the Hungry Ghost according to the taoist believers. What I am going to share with you is based on my colleague own words. She is our tea lady who have the extraordinary skill to see spirits and ghost and it has been verified authentic by believers. She is a christian and for extra income she does house cleaning.

This morning, after serving my coffee , this was related to me.;-

On the 21st (tuesday) August 2007, 1900hours. she went for an assignment to clean a apartment at Court 8, Goodyear Court, Subang jaya , unit number ( not fair to reveal ). As she was cleaning all alone, suddenly, the water stop flowing from the rubber hose. She went to the bathroom and investigate. Her initial thoughts were, maybe the rubber hose broke loose .

Upon checking, it was thighly intact and it was working again. She turn it off and suddenly , she hear a man's voice growing louder in cantonese and coming towards her. Her heart started pumping and clutching to her necklace, which carries a cross and pray profusely.

The voice got nearer and suddenly, her goose pimple appear and standing infront of her was vision of a man in grey clothes. She ask for forgiveness for disturbing him. The man answer " Why are you bring this thing to my place ( pointing to the cross ) and get out ". She say sorry and left the job half done.

I told her that it could be her imagination and she relate to me another one , also in Court 7.

Same as court 8 , she was cleaning and a young girl appeared in a half vision , only legs without body and told her to get out as the unit she was cleaning was her domain. The spirit threatens to bring in her henchmen if she stays. She left and vow never to take any odd jobs in Goodyear court , subang jaya ever,

Any forumners , care to do a ghost bustling team and check her authenticity are welcome. She will provide the details and go with you. Believe it or not, you better believe.

I am that man in the story. I work in SYABAS. On the 21st of August 2007, at 1845 hours, I was working at Court 8. I was clinging onto the balcony railing while my subordinate tried to pull me from falling to a certain death. All of a sudden, I broke a pipe which was attached to the wall and the unit’s rubber hose did not have any water running in it. I managed to get up to the balcony.
I could hear somebody trying to use the tap. I asked my subordinate to quickly give me a wrench to stop the broken pipe which was shooting with water. My subordinate gave me a screw driver. Being angry but still panting for breath, I said in Cantonese, softly, “why are you bring this thing to my place. Get Out”. I repeated that phrase to my subordinate when I managed to regain more breath. Strangely, the person inside the unit thought I was talking to her and she apologised. Anyways, after she left, me and my subordinate climbed down the ladder and packed and balik after fixing the broken pipe.

My very good friend lives in court 7 and she claims she had been attacked by spirits before. She said the black shadow strangled her and she had to fight him off with all her strength. From that time onwards, she had been so traumatised that she can no longer stay alone and be in the house alone. She's also afraid to go home after 7 pm. Now her unit is filled with framed Quran verses but I don't think she's really convinced and have asked me to stay over for many many times already. I usually sleep in the living room but it had got so bad that she actually asked me to stay and wait for her to fall asleep in her room before I can sleep outside.

Well I'm quite flattered that she thinks so highly of me, even more than God. But I do worry for her. Her paranoia can drive her to insanity. To tell her that spirits does not exist would not help at all for she had experienced it first hand and this spirit is somewhat violent.

She's muslim, I think she'll believe if some medium come over the house and do some "cleaning" or exorcism, say some powerful prayers to ward off the evil spirits. Anyone who knows an authentic medium, please recommend. But genuine ones please, not any bomoh who will stripped and molest ladies.

That's my niece! I apologise that my niece is a very rude niece and I ought to teach her some manners. She told me that she was playing at Goodyear Court 8 and during that time, some Indonesians were burning some rubbish not far away. The smoke blew to Goodyear Court. To make matters worse, Indonesia is still burning their forest and consequently, Court 8 was invaded by smoke. The cleaning lady's vision was not too good as she only saw half of my niece. Well, my niece is very rude and she threaten the cleaning lady to bring in her MA CHAI if the cleaning lady doesn't go. :D

This would be he day where EVERYONE ON EARTH would purchase some food, prayer papers, prayer money, prayer candles, etc. etc. from firefox&hth Sdn. Bhd. to celebrate the "No Ghost Day"! Oh, this "No Ghost Day" shall occur on every 1st of the month. :)

I saw loads of people burning money just now along the streets. I didn't see the dog howl or anything. It is said that dogs can see ghost :)

but no dogs howled.

In Sri Hartams, there was this man in his underwear. DAMN. I wonder what on earth he was doing. He was in front of EON bank and there some sort of water tank from his car. He was bathing in his Underware in public. What sort of stupid act this guy is doing in public. Why can't he bathe at home. Anyways, down this road, i.e. near the fruit shop, there were people burning paper money.

I thought of writing a cheque and burn it but then I am just afraid that they will not accept cheques and further more, it is out station cheque :D

I think people only see what they want to see/believe, and as long as the person believe it, then it's true to them, otherwise, waste time only!

I guess thats why some people believe in angels more than demons, or vampires more than zombies,.. or UFO/ET more than HIM/HER...etc....

I enjoy going to the Hungry Ghost celebration up north Butterworth. You bet...They put up this open air show with scantily dressed young girls singing and dancing, lots of skin to show. Not only the Ghosts will enjoy, I m sure all the "jantan" will too! I enjoy the show, got an erection throughout!

It is funny that in front of the great temple of the serious looking Chinese Gods, the show girls just dance away the night with sexy, revealing cloth... I tot DAP made a big complaint the last time they did that. Really an eye opener for many, especially the "ang mo" tourist. When I was asked about the festival by one wide-eyed OZ tourist, I said the God must be a modern God for allowing this to even happen in His temple.

This is worshipping out of fear. FEAR of ghost. So, offerring the ghost food and entertainment, make peace with them and we will all enjoy a quite lives. No one can complaint.

Those ghost can be ferocious if disturbed, merciless if offended, totally unpredictable if they go hungry. So, logically, food and entertainment will do everyone a lot of good.

One thing good about this practice that I notice. The temple I watched the show was across a road to a mosque. With all the hu haa going on, the muslim in the mosque do not seem to mind. In fact I could see the imam shows his FULL respect for the Chinese believe. Wonderful religious tolerance we see here. Bush will definately like to see this in Iraq..

The local Chinese folks, came out in drove to participate in the charity works. Gave away alms to the poors. Good work. I see nothing wrong with this except that those folks do not share my believe in the one God. So be it...

The offering of food is a taoist tradition, more of satisfying one's conscience that in their daily life they have not commit themselves to do the necessary.

This happened not only to taoist believers but other religion as well. The taoist believe that when a person passed away, he will only realise that he is dead after 7 days. That is why most next of kin tell stories of the dead person will come back in the form of a moth or butterfly.

The chinese "Cheng Beng " ( All Souls Day ) is another tradition of offering food and hell notes. The idea is to bribe the spirits so that they are kind to the deceased. Now it is a good opportunity for family members to reunite and a good tradition to show the children to respect elders and to relate stories of the deceased 's past glorified life.

The other belief is that if the house is left vacant for 47 days, it is free for spirits to occupy. so take note, if you have a situation like this, you must visit the vacant house every fortnight . a good excuse to check and clean the vacant unit.

even with all the explainations, I still don't believe in ghosts. Well, I guess one day when I really see one, I will only believe. But until then, I will just keep my mind open on some of the things you guys mention e.g. leaving the house vacant for 47 days (Chia) and 49 days (closelaw) ---> so I will the the average and it will be 48 days :) , and offering food, entertainment, etc.

I did once try the Spirit of the Coin game but no spirits came out. I mean, I really would like to see them but it's maybe that I deeply don't believe in them and they dun appear.

I am a strong believer that every supernatural stuff can be explained by science. But of course as time goes by, I am sure my thoughts will be different.

Err buddies...would anyone believe the paranormal beings...anomalous phenomenas...spirits or ghosts do exist...n wonder between our 3 dimensional realms...n the separate dimensions beyond any logical understandings...or scientific explanations...?

Some humans are either born with the ability...or from time to time...under certain circumstances...they do possess the tendency to see...feel or experience its presence...

For some other humans...who keeps asking persistently for the chance to see...feel or experience its presence...they might eventually get what they bargain for...

I am Catholic and used to be a stubborn non-believer too until that night in USJ.Just to share an event with you.

That was like somewhere between 1995/1997 where i had this habit of cycling around USJ 2 late at night.

Don;t know about flying ghosts. You be the judge..heheh
Anyway,I had a friend staying at USJ 2/4F which is near the SEAFIELD school. (At that time i believe the school was still under construction.)

I would frequently visit my friend and chat late into the night before going back home. One night i went over as usual, and as i approached the junction of her street I heard the sound of a lady laughing..NOT in an eerie way. It was about 11.30pm or so and the lights of the living room of a corner house was switched on, so i thought someone was watching tv. I proceeded to my friend's place and chatted up to about 2.30am before I left.

As i came to the same junction taken earlier, i heard the exact laughter. This time the corner house had its lights switched off.

So it couldn;t be the tv. This is the part where the laughter starts getting to me. I was a non-believer remember? So i looked around for a logical explanation. The source of it came from a tree which grew on the side of the school.

I looked at it and upwards..Wahlao, needless to say - I would have won any cycling race at that moment. I took off like a madman. I knew for certain I was being followed as the laughter did not stop and there was the scent of flowers. No idea what flower it is. The laughter only stopped when i hit my doorstep.

I could swear it wasn;t my imagination. What I saw was a silhouette of a lady sitting on top of the tree. Now how did she get up there? She could have climbed up the branches.Well if you had been there, you would have noticed that the tree is quite high up and the trunk was smooth with no branches for at least 7 feet up.

Well she could be a good climber.. but how the heck could she have followed me all the way home?

Orchi,
I think for some people, the more they seek out the spirits - the more they tend to avoid them :D

My gf has this tendency...where if 'something' is nearby, she gets a throbbing headache + dizziness. As for me, I just get the tingle up the neck.

I dont know where there is any ghosts in USJ but I have been hearing cat meow inside my house every now and then for the past 2 years. And the cat has been pretty nifty coz I have never been able to catch sight of it let alone getting rid of it. Maybe the cat has invisible cloak or maybe it's a spirit.

After a while I just take it as a regular anomalous phenomenon in my house. No big deal.

I don't know about your dog but the dogs in my neighbourhood howls whenever there is an ambulance or police siren. They also howl when other dogs howl.

So if there is an ambulance far far away, and Dog Z howls, Dog Y howls then Dog X howls, then Dog W howls and finally, my neighbour's dog i.e. Dog A howls.

these dogs somehow communicate. On whether a dog howls at ghosts, I have not seen or experience one before.

I nearly knocked down some people a few times while I was reversing. I didn't see anyone and reversed slowly. then people glared at me angrily. Then only I realised I nearly knocked some people. That's because of the blind spot.

One day, near the bank, somebody wanted to park in front of me. He honked at least 10 times. I heard the honk but I couldn't see anyone. After about 5 to 10 minutes, he got off his car and requested I moved my car. I was very apologetic because I didn't see him because he was at my "blind spot".

It is very common in newly developed housing estate that while building the houses, some accidental death occured at site. This is especially true if the majority of the workmen are indons. It is a common practice that when a worker dies , especially an illegal, the contractor will notify the next of kin and pay a small compensation.

After that since he or she is an illegal , they will dug up a hole using an excavator and buried it and the house will sit on it. this so as the cost and the trouble to report and send the body back is too costly. So that explain why there are so many spirits in Subang Jaya and USJ.

Have you ever notice that in any construction site there is always a 'Dato" shrine ? . This a common taboo , for the contractor to make offering to the "mayor" of the site. Believe me I have attended a kenduri offering and a medium ( who knows no bahasa ) get into trance and speak in loud bahasa .
I was dumbfounded when he got out of trance and speak totally different tone and know no bahasa.

You may argue that it is an act, but if it is so, he should be in hollywood with an Oscar. So have faith in your religion and you shall be saved. God Bless.

I am not quite 100% sure, but this is how I understand the "Hungry Ghost" month. Please correct me if I am wrong : On the 7th month of the Chinese calender (lunar), spirits of deceased ancestors rise from their resting places and start mingling in the real world. These spirits, if not pacified, can get grumpy and start to cause trouble, which can manifest itself as sightings of unexplainable phenomenon, accidents, injuries, etc..

Even if you believe in ghosts and spirits, I do find it very hard to see how anyone can believe in the above concept. If the hungry ghost month really did exist as above, then, shouldn't every culture and every race in the entire history of the world believe in it? If we took the statistics of car accidents, for example, for the entire globe on a monthly basis, shouldn't there be a huge peak on the during the hungry ghost month? If the hungry ghost month was true, why so some cultural groups (such as the Japanese, and some Buddhists) celebrate the 7th month of the Chinese calender as a time of joy? Unless of course, you believe ghosts to be inherently racists - that they have this special powers that allow them only to haunt people who believe in their existence.

The hungry ghost month also implies that the keeper of the gates of the underworld (whose task is to free the spirits at the beginning of the ghost month) either a) regularly checks his/her calender (remember, it has to be a lunar calender as well, not a solar one!), b) has astronomy tools to measure the location of the moon c) has superpowers that can naturally detect what day of the month (defined in purely human terms!) it is.

I wonder what the keeper of the gates did before humans defined what one month was? Did (s)he just randomly decide when and how long to open the gates for?

Another ghost story;

This was told to me 12 years ago. It happened in a small town called Banting, Selangor. My friend came from this town. She had a sister who have the unique capabilty to walk across other dimension. One day, she went down to hell and she saw all kinds of souls facing their punisments.

One particular scene she came across was a boy hanging and the boy ask her whether she can carry a message back for him to this parents, and she obliged. He says please go back and tell my parents not to offer anymore offerings as he will have to served his time for commiting suicide and cannot receive any offerings.

She was so traumatised that she gather her courage to search for the boy's family in Banting. She found it and learned from the parents , who show her a photograph of the boy , that he took his own life at the tender age of 12 for failing to get his grade in school. Interestingly, the photo match the boy she saw in hell. She ask his parents whether they have been making offerings to the boy , of which they admitted. So she deliver his message to the parents.

This extraordinary skilled lady friend now works in USA. Any banting forumners heard of this story ?

OF course it's defined by human, like most things in life, it's DEFINED by man! Day or Night? if some guy long ago say it's call "Day" when its night, will you be sleeping in the day or night?

it's like, whatever floats people boats! it will be true as long as you believe in it, but such believe is not isolated to a particular culture or race, check out mexico, japan, or parts of africa/Latin America. The fact is the dead (RIP) played a part in our living world, they served a function, memory of love one gone, a reminder our mortality, mystery/unexplained for the curious, or criticism for the skeptics, or just an event for ppl to gather togather to bond, at the end, different festivals add flavor to this wonderful place called Earth!

btw; to some of you, singers on stage during the festivals are people too, people making a living by hard earn sweat, abet a different job & attire, but unlike some of us sitting in air-con office wearing office attire and drinking coffee. those women (& men) worked there because: the money is good (for their form 3/5 piece of paper), and they are good at what they do, and also because they didn't get any degree/masters/doctorates so they can wear office attire, join USJ forum and start criticize other ppl's job and status differrentiation!!!

It's not that expensive to pay the "right" people and you can get everything done to send the body back to Indonesia. Pay the wife of the deceased a few thousand and she will be happy already. Then pay the "right" people another few thousand and you can send the body back. Comparing this few thousands with the project amount, it is chicken feed.

P/S I have first hand news on this :)

God Bless.
yeah I have witnessed the same thing like you too. I similarly saw that the medium knew no bahasa :) I wonder if we are talking about the same medium or maybe it's a "trademark" for these medium now i.e. they have to "not speak bahasa" and then when in trance, they speak bahasa. ? I also notice that most mediums drive luxury cars e.g. Merz
I believed these kind of things once but I have started not to believe :)

Err buddy...most observations...practices or celebrations of certain beliefs...or superstitions by various ethics or races anywhere are purely on cultural traditions n customaries that are passed on from generations...they are NOT causing anybody else...any discomfort or harm....or do they?

Why bother to harp on your own disbeliefs of this or that...?

Enough is enough...you move on with your own beliefs...n believing in what you do...n let others go about their own beliefs...n believing in what they do...

But if anyone has further ghost stories to share in the forum...by all means...go ahead to post them all here...or elsewhere in another appropriate threads.

It makes good reading...whether one wants to believe in them...or not.

Right on the dot bro orchi, for your reading pleasure, here is another one;-

SS2/***;- Sometime in 1975

A former beauty queen was murdered. Upon her last rites, the sister cried frantically and in anger and among the crowd attending the wake, put a pair of scissors,( a chinese taboo belief for redemption) in her coffin vowing and asking her sister to she takes revenge for the one that murdered her. This was not to be as the deceased was a kind hearted lady.

Police rounded up many suspects and up to this day , the case remain unsolved. Before her death, she stayed in a corner unit and her immediate neighbour would swear that she was a nice lady and every day at a precise time she would burn some jossticks greet her and walk up to the gate pillar and pray.

On her 100 days of demise, the immediate neighbour saw a vision of her wearing a white gown walking to the gate pillar and doing her usual praying.
Her neighbour knowing that the house is vacant since her death and due to her good relationship , she was not afraid. She would look back at her neighbour and smiled.

To this day, the house remained vacant. According to the neighbour, many have rented the place after the lady died and the tenants for some mysterious reasons would not stayed long.

Due to privacy and respect, I refrain from revealing the location of the house. May she rest in peace.God Bless.

Garo believe there are spirit everywhere any day any time. not on Ghost Month. According to China ancient story, there was this young guy came from a poor family. After his mother passed away, he keep dreaming of his mother asking him for food. Chinese believe, that after people die, their throat become very small and no food can go in. That's why they only smell josstick smoke. This guy seeing his mother with great sorrow, he pray to Guan Yin. Offering his own life just to get the food to his mother. He do many sacrifices. After seeing his honesty and his great love to his mother, he finally touches Guan Yin Kind Hearted you always help man kind out of suffering. Gaun Yin bring the young guy to his mother in hell. The boy offer his mother some food. But the mother can not eat any of the food because her throat were to thin to swallow anything.

The young guy than beg to Guan Yin again. So Guan Yin ask this guy to do some read some prayer for seven days. Slowly and slowly, his mother throat begin to be normal and can eat the food. This happened in 15days of the 7month of Chinese calendar. So, after this incident, Guan Yin preached to the all mighty to allow all the pity ghost to eat only in 15th of 7month of each year. The hell door will be open wide on 14th and the ghost will return on 16th. But some will remain until before end July cause too many of them.

Further to that, the young is today who we address him as "Di Zhong Wang".(ping yin). Anyone knows him?.

The story I tell is not in perfect because I forgot some of it. Please check with others who knows about the story of "Di Zhong Wang".

Happy Ghost Day......

This next story happened in one of my worksite in North Port, Port Klang.

We were awarded a project to build shophouses in North Port, directly opposite the Low cost PKNS flats. As usual the sub-contractor erected a "Dato" shrine and work started. A group of Indonesian workers was
staying in the quaters provided.

One day my project manager called me and reported that two of the workers died mysteriously in their sleep. A police report was made and an autopsy was conducted. The result was sudden death with no mention of any diseases.

Upon inhouse investigation, the co-workers at site mentioned that a day before, the two workers were seen behaving like in trance and throwing bottles and desecrating the "Dato"'s shrine. until fire broke out and was put out. Then they went to sleep and never wake up..
The developer, a staunch believer in taoist culture, insists that a medium from a temple in Sasaran, near Kuala Selangor be called to address the problem.

The meduim arrived at site and after his rituals, he got into trance. The Coarse voice was very angry and demanded for compensation for the two workers's misdeed. The meduim was virtually floored and have to request to 'higher spiritual officials' to subdue the 'dato". By way of the medium , my sub-contractor offered apology and a sacrifice of two cockerl's blood and a kenduri of lamb and all sorts of spices. The "dato" demanded a new 'house' and relocation and warned that no one should disturb his "house".

The offering as promised was fulfilled. However, it was no a smooth project and we as contractors end up unable to collect 1 million in debts.
On a visit to the developer's office, I was shocked to find his main reception lobby, houses a huge shrine encased in glass, size of a room 10 by 10 feet.
In the shrine sits five human size deities and all the staffs I spoke to dare not discuss about the shrine in the office. The air was filled with incense all over.

My visit was to seek a settlement to our outstanding debts and before the boss meet me in the conference room, I would say a prayer to the Lord to give me strength. Halleluyah! it works and I could see in his eyes turning virtually red like a man possessed. End story, I failed to collect and we have decided to abandon him .

Has anyone heard of a banana spirit? it was said each banana tree has a banana spirit reside in it, and the spirit are usually either a beautiful lady or an ugly hag.
There's a way to summon out the banana spirit and to have a one night stand with her.

first you get a red string, tie it one end around a banana tree (there's some other method say you need to use a special needle, tie it to the red string and poke it into the tree), another end to your bed post. At night the spirit will come out from the banana tree, follow the red string to your bed, and make love to you. She will go back to her tree by day break. And in the next morning, you must chop off the banana tree with a single chop, to prevent her from coming back for you again and again, until you are dead. But why must chop off the tree with a SINGLE chop leh? Bcos if you didn't manage to chop off the tree with the first chop, the spirit will awaken and escape from the tree, then will come back at night to seek revenge.

By summoning the spirit, sometimes the one you get might not always be the beautiful one, so how to differentiate neh? here's how: Wait at night until the spirit starts to emerge from the tree, if the spirit came out head first, then it's a beautiful one, if it came out leg first, then it's an ugly one. So what happen if you are unlucky to get the ugly hag? simple, just break off the red string which is attached to your bed post, and she will unable to find her way to your bed and return to her tree.

Heard it long long time ago while I was a kiddo, and my elder cousin actually has the gut to try it out. But it didn't workout, bcos grandma found out and gave him a good rotan lesson before the night fall :D So I guess instead of him getting a beautiful spirit to visit him at night, he got a good beating from the old lady :D

LOL, i heard the banana story before from my friend. In front of her house there was a small cluster of banana trees. Coming back from late night clubbing once she bumped into a lady standing nearby the banana tree. She called out "Who are you looking for?" and the lady disappeared.

My friend was so scared she told her parents, and her dad actually told her that the lady is the spirit of the banana tree, and he himself saw her before.

Ever since then i don't dare to go to her house especially at night... lol... when i park my car I make sure I don't park next to any banana trees either.

Personal experience :

I used to have late night walks with my bf in USJ3's (forgot which-which lane) park since we both don't like crowded places. On night around 12am (I remember it was a cool night) we were walking towards one of the park where there's a gazebo in the middle.

There were some benches surrounding the park, but they were wet so we headed towards the gazebo when suddenly I felt a bone chilling cold enveloped me. My bf also stopped suddenly. We looked at each other and we understood each other immediately. Without saying another word we just scram as fast as we can .

Later he told me that he can feel the hair on his nape goes straight up the same time I felt the cold (seriously, it's not like a cool night's breeze). I am pretty sure something doesn't want us to go nearby the gazebo. But that scared me enough!

Okay, orchi, here another :-

Year 1976-Place Kuantan, Pahang.

I was at that time attached to an Aluminiun company . We have a client who wants to change all his doors and windows to his new built bungalow in Kuantan. Those days it was only the rich who can afford such items.

The company send two of my colleagues and me to supervise and install the items. The daily allowance was 25 ringgit per person per day including accommodation and meals. We needed 4 days to complete the task.

We arrived at kuantan after driving through the old road for 6 hours. After lunch we went to the site to commence our task. We progress only 10 % and since it was late 6pm . we decided to look for a hotel . Our budget only allows for rates not higher than 20 ringgits per night. We drove along Teluk Chempedak and found one, The Hillview Hotel, a two storey shophouse with hotel upstairs and restraunt downstairs.

We went in and ask the cashier if room is available. The answer was no and since we are hungry, we ordered fried rice and eat at the restraunt. The owner came and we ask again for room. This time the owner went over to the cashier and brought out a set of keys, "Guest just checked out , 20 ringgits ". We were overioyed as it was getting late.

After dinner, we went upstairs and right at the corner was the room. The keys was an old mortice type where you can latch it with a knob that protrude from a cast iron rectangular casing. common lockset those days.

There are two single beds in the rectangular room with a window unit air-con unit mounted beside the front window. The toilet is beside the door entrance, next is the bed., where I laid. Three of us, I was the thinnest and one of my supervisor the biggest ( Muscular and big as Lou Ferringo ( The Hulk ) ).He was the first to take bath , and I was lying in the first bed nearest to the toilet. The other bed next to mine was occuppied by my third colleague and he was reading papers. We could hear the big man taking bath. Then , the door opened and he latched the toilet door from outside and begin to share the bed with me. There was complete silence with the exception of noise from the air-cond blowing.

Suddenly, we hear a creaking sound and all of us turn to the noise. It was from the hinges of the old toilet door. a strange gust of wind blow towards us.
I told my friend ( the Hulk ) to close the door properly since he have just completed bath. He insisted that he has bolted tightly from outside and he close the same door and show us that it is now closed. Not happy I inspected the large old bolt and get back to rest.

Two minutes later, another creakimg noise from the same door and a stronger gust of wind., and the same locked door opens! This time we just pack our luggage and went downstairs. Upon inquiring with the cashier, we were told that previuosly a lady hanged herself in the same bathroom and that is why she told us there was no room available. Verdict; The bolt is 3/4 inches in diameter and when locked it penetrate 1 inch. How could it happen ?

We left for a more expensive hotel and vow never to return to the hotel.
Last year , I was in Kuantan and noticed that the hotel is still there.

This happened in Taiping on the eve of CNY 93’. Our group of friends of 9 grew together from sec school and once we started work, we made it a point to meet up for supper whenever we came back for long holidays. On this trip, all 9 of us were back and we were just in our early 20’s. As usual, we gathered in a mate’s hse around 9 and made our way in 2 cars to a makan joint called 'SiangMalam'. We had our wantan mee and what have you not and chit chatted till around midnite.

Another ‘ritual’ during our schooling days was to ‘lepak’ at a hindu temple at the foot of Maxwell hill. To get to this place, you need to drive to the end of the road from the lake gardens where the road splits to the hill and another which takes you around the lake. Just at the spot, there’s another slip road, wide enough for 1 car that leads to the temple. The road is without lights except for some oil lamps on some shrines under huge trees.

On that particular nite, we decided to make that trip. Just before the temple grounds, there is a metal barricade which is normally closed at nite. But from the barricade you can see the first temple. Only the dome is lit and at the entrance stands 2 life size idols in black. That itself gives you the creeps. And as you walk further up, there’s another big temple. We normally sit at the barricade coz it’s bright and some of us would walk up to the first temple. Not for praying, as we are all Catholics but just for the fun of it.

So, as we sat in a circle chatting away, one guy who was seated right opposite this huge tree prompted us to continue chatting. By this, the rest knew something was on. He quietly said that we are being watched by something from the tree. He said,”Guys, my 12 o’clock. Straight up, on the branch.” We took turns to casually turn and look. Lo and behold, there was this silhouette of a person squatting. And this was the killer part, it was seated at the tip of the tree branch!! Honestly, I nearly pissed in my pants!

Once all of us saw it, we casually got up and got in the car and drove off. We drove to a nearby war memorial not far. It was already around 1 and the experience was just out of this world. What could have that thing been? We still visit the temple, though we don't see the thing anymore.

Another incident happened 2 days later……

Here's a story....

I knew this girl, lets call her M, whom I had gone through thick and thin together in university for 3 years. We never said it to each other but deep down in our hearts we know this funny lingering feeling we had for each other. Few years after we left university, I went to pursue my career, M further her study for a PhD and we barely kept in touch.

Then sometime in Nov 05, I got a call from M and we talked about current things as well as reminiscing on the good old days. On this momentous occassion, we finally owned up our feeling for each other. We promised each other that we should develop this new relationship once M get back from the States, which was where she was pursuing her PhD. I got M to promise to call me when she return from the State after completing her PhD the following month.

A month later in Dec 05, I received a call from M as promised. We had a long sweet conversation, lasting almost 2 hours and it was difficult to part ways. M said she was glad that she had the chance to express her feeling a month earlier. However it seemed time was not on her side and she will be kept busy for an indefinite period. At that point I had assumed that it was probably her final thesis that was keeping her busy.

The next day, I received a call from M's close friend and what she told me about M almost floored me! M had passed away due to leukimia in the States 2 days earlier. I thought it was some kind of bad joke as I had just talked to her the day before. I confirmed and reconfirmed M's death with M's relatives, parents and mutual friends. It was true, M had passed away 2 days earlier.

For a while after her death, I still couldn't believe she was gone, I mean how is it possible that I talked to her, hearing her voice, so real and warm, a day after her death???

M was diagnosed with leukimia when she was in the States in Nov 05 and she was too ill for treatment according to the doctors. Her mom flew into the States to be on her bedside when she exhaled her last breath.

Anyway folks, the month of hungry ghost will end tomorrow. The taoist believe that during this month, the spirits of those who died mysteriously and have no one to pray to them are release by the Emperor of Hades to come to earth to eat as much as they can. That is why in some chinese populated areas , they put up cooked food and belongings to offer to 'them'.

However, when the gates closed tomorrow, some could not make it back in time and are left behind.......   :D

This is a real story told by me and I hope you guys would treat it with utmost seriousness. This is the most scariest moment in my life. I will never ever want to go through this experience again because it's absoulutely terrifying.

I was driving my Proton Wira along the NKVE at 4am after some drinks with another friend of mine (X). Near the Shah Alam stretch it was very dark, from far, we saw a fluoresent light at the side of the road. The light is from those emergency light that we place in the car booth. Being curious, I slowed down. X and I saw an elderly lady taking a red cloth wiping the mile stone. There was a pail of water or something like that on the road.

Still a bit intoxicated, I stopped the car and laughed together with X and I said, "what the heck is this woman doing here". I wound down my window and daringly shouted at the lady, "Makcik buat apa dekat sini". She turned to look at us and she was in tears. My laugh stopped and so did X stop his laughing. She said she wanted to go to Port Klang. She had no vehicle and she was alone. Seeing the crying mak cik, I asked her to climb in my car. Back she went and the both of us, X and I were quiet. when reaching the Klang Toll, I tried to start a conversation and I asked, "Mak Cik Buat apa dekat situ ?"

She replied, "Anak mak cik sudah 5 tahun meninggal. Dia menungang motosikal dan langgar batu itu tadi. Saya lap batu itu".

That really freaked me out.

As she was saying that, I could smell something unbelievable. It smelt like blood. But X and I just ignored the smell.

X then asked, "mak cik buat apa dengan kain itu?"

Mak Cik then showed X the cloth. X's face went pale because the cloth was dripping with blood. I was shiverring.

Trembling, I asked the mak cik, "mengapa ada darah di kain itu?"

Mak Cik replied, "Oh, Saya sepatutnya gunakan FAB. Oleh sebab tak guna FAB, kain masih kotor".....

Probably a baby monkey dude. Lots of it there...and at nite, it looks greyish and sparkling eyes ... i am also from tpg and like u siang malam , follow by chit chat at the lake gardens, but most of the time at the skating rink.

Time difference dude. probably got the date all sorted wrong.
