:cool: The final novel - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has stirred the book craze of the fans.... It has been ordered in millions even before it is launched.

Before the launch, it is being secured tightly by security guards and GPS (Global Positioning System) installed on the trucks that fetch the boxes of the books to the bookstores. The security guards check everywhere including the dust bin in the book warehouse to ensure the books are safe and not hidden everywhere.

BOOKSELLERS’ ANNOUNCEMENT ON HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS

With effective from 21 July 2007, Harry Potter 7 will not be available for sale in the following bookstores nationwide in Malaysia:

1. MPH Bookstores
2. Popular and Harris Bookstores
3. Times the Bookshop

We will honour the sale to customers who have pre-booked. The book can be collected from the shops from 21 July 2007 onwards.

All activities related to the launch of HP7 in the above stores have been cancelled.

We apologise for the cancellation of the activities and any inconvenience caused. Any queries with regards to this book, please refer directly to the sole distributor in Malaysia

Price war over Potter book leads to boycott

A price war has erupted in Malaysia over the final Harry Potter book a day before its release - leading four major bookstores to boycott its sale in protest, officials said today.


"Effective immediately, four major bookstore chains in Malaysia will no longer be selling Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in response to selected hypermarkets in Malaysia offering (the book at) RM69.90 from the recommended retail price of RM109.90 set by the sole distributor Penguin Books Malaysia," the bookstores said in a joint statement.

I had big breakfast at Hong Lim and then drove over CarreFour ... on the way to office to do some work. :p Going back in a while to enjoy the book... see you all on monday!

I am 3 quarter through the Deathly Hallows......and must admit that this one sure stand out among the rest of the books......what say u? :D ......and i love the tale of the deathly hallows.......

And btw.....whoever wish to purchase the last book (pirated copy).....can PM me for the detail......it is at one Pasar Malam i went last Friday.....price?......hehehehe........less than half that of the Carrefour/Tesco price of RM69.90....... :eek:

I am waiting for the day someone to scan the book and convert it into pdf format and produce the CD and price it RM 6.90 and I will find someone who is willing to lend me the CD to cut one myself at a cost of 69 sen. The day is not too far away.

If I disallow copyright violations, what make you think it is OK to offer such a book in this Forum?

I am making this public statement once and for all - in future, anyone offering pirated stuff on this Forum gets banned for at least a month from the Forum.
