He is lucky he didn't end up, floating down in some freaking river,...
See... every freaking time I TRY to find an excuse to LIKE the police force, some crap like this would surface like sh!t in the IWK pond..
God forbid... what if - he died during the assault, what is the freaking IGP, OCPD, KPB or IO is gonna say to the family... he died of natural causes?? ...
The ongoing Altantuya case is a good enough case to showcase the way the cops operate... COLD and COULDN'T CARE LESS. After all - " SAYA POLIS! LU SIAPA.... " Well - hopefully karma would have a say soon in this case ...
The stupid magistrate oso another one... you sitting in your high position! What in God's name were you thinking - sending him back to same lock-up after advising him to make a report against the very same people that bashed him up !!! Brainless justice, if I may say so..
I know some of our forummers/seniors are very close with our cops so please don't preach about not generalising all cops as the same. If the cops wanna change - it should change from the inside, get all the good ones to either throw all the bad apples OUT or in PRISON, for giving all the men in blue RED faces...

Good God i feel for the guy but i reserve my judgement till the facts are out...
But just generally I'm wondering, not referring to this case whatsoever, how would most of us feel if the beatings were done on the perpetrators of the gang rapes in Johor or parang wielding car jackers and home invasion buglars threatening to chop up limbs and such. This is because i and i feel a majority of us think that prison is just too good for these ppl and would be a let off for them.
How many of us would actually turn a blind eye to this kind of beatings and in fact cheered them on? I know I would because when i was in school a similiar, less harsh of course, treatment was handed out to a bunch of thugs who were just out of control. The last straw came when a friend of mine, a frequent target of their assaults, made ANOTHER police report after being assaulted by those thugs despite them being hauled up and given repeated warnings.
The day they showed up in school sporting mild bruises was the day order was restored. Any it wasnt just us who silently cheered but the teachers as well.

So..... "guilty, until proven innocent".... judgement reserved...
I thought it was the other way around...

Regardless, the cops have NO RIGHT to bash people up... worst still, bashed yet again - after the complaint was brought up to A MAGISTRATE...

Sorry my bad, i could have put it in a better way regarding this case and my sympathy goes out to that guy. I was certainly no way equating him to the lowlifes who i feel deserve abashing but just didnt want to jump to conclusions hence my judgement reserved remark.

Whatever the fact of the case is trifecta, the cops have no right to bash detainee. The reason they detain someone is to help facilitate in the on going investigation. How can we assume guilty until proven innocent?
Let me show you another scenario. Suppose you ware mistakenly taken in by the police for investigation like Mr. Tong and bashed. How would you feel then?

That's why we need more people like Nat to go to jail. In the police station, the police didn't even dare to lay a finger on him except they threaten him to slap him and throw him and they shoved him while handcuffed.
Luckily this welder was not blown to pieces using explosives.
It's good that these sort of things are brought up!!!

From Nat's arrest and this incident, if I ever get caught by the police and they threaten to harm me, I will say, "GO AHEAD. Make sure I die because if I don't die, you guys will be in serious SH!T"

very SERIOUS! I m not married n I have nothing much to loose. if I m beaten to death, hopefully somebody will blog about me n the police who beat the hell out of me will be in trouble. it would be good if all police abuses were to be exposed. that is if I m dead.
if not, I will blog n expose the police who beat the hell out of me.

if that's true, all these should be exposed. the whole police force should be revamp. the whole force should be new. should be replaced with fresh graduates

Lockup deaths HAVE been highlighted in the past..and AFAIK,.NOTHING has progressed from there.. the public at large hardly blink, the cabinet don't dare say anything and so everything is swept under the carpet...a vicious cycle everytime, all the time and till kingdom come.. thats a fact!..As far as I see it. I don't see any hope for improvement...not ever!.

I totally agreed with USJ27Resident. Something is seriously wrong here. That was a real stupid and unaccountable magistrate. Can you imagined a scenario where a judge send a girl back to her uncle after she complained that she was raped and beaten by that uncle?????

I'm thinking they'd interrogate suspects differently and its obvious those involved with heavy crimes like treason, terrorists, murder, armed robbery, rape would get the worst treatment ot torture. (I've heard immigrants involved with crimes are NOT spared and could get the worst.) It may also depend on the suspect's intellectual and behavior. Kalau rupa bodoh and uncouth.. easy meat!
With Nat..I'm sure they're VERY aware of possibilities aftermath.
