Very sad indeed the mindset is continuously going backwards towards the Dark Ages.

This is the main contributing reason why ppl leave Msia and migrate to Aus...not coz education or bigger houses like some forumers think. They shouls actually ask the ppl who migrate.

"Siti Noor Idayu said an officer even told her that the money she earned working in the outlet was duit haram (illicit money) and that her parents, children and future generations would all be tainted for using such money."

what a joke! what abt collecting and asking for corruption is it this not illicit money too..blardy jokers lah!!

Wah... looks like all the accusation can be subject to defamation... how can the officer simply jump to the conclusion without concrete proof? Just b'coz she wears bit exposing. :o

What is the difference of the mindset to those PAS has brought up earlier? I see slowly we are heading towards that direction. :(

Guess time for me to move back to North Pole... :p

Who is that female officer who told the singer that the money she earned from singing in a club as "duit haram"? Is she the syariah judge now?

F**k these bigots who try to impose a standard on others when they can't even lead their own lives properly. Corruption okay but money from blood, sweat and tears singing in a pub is tak ok? Pigi lah....

Having the stupidity to travel all the way from Ipoh to Sunway to nab one singer when in their own backyard behind the Ipoh Railway Station, there are so many addicts and tranvestite strolling around.

I think this bunch of clowns really make me puke!

And our Prime Minister will continue with his "elegant silence", trust me.

Oh? My mistake then. But the point is the same, go spend your time on educating the young then creating waves from your ireesponsible actions, JAIP!

(These folks from JAIP must be wishing also to be allowed to carry 'whips' during the raid so they can whip the suspects on the spot, blardy bigots and talibans wannabes!)

Surely what these demented fools are doing is tantamount to kidnapping and assault? What would happen if you refused to be taken into custody? Do these people need warrants? Documentation? Or can any fool gather up a few like-minded thugs and walk up and demand to see our MyKad and lock us up? It is infinitely frustrating to hear these kind of things happening. At the risk of getting banned (or worse), perhaps its time someone stood up and formed an anti-JAIP organisation to round up perverted losers like this and lock them up indefinitely?

Pakistan is a major exporter of terrorism and extreme Islam views. Just note the Talibans, Al-Qaeda and incidents of terrorism around the world have some kind of link with Pakistan. And yes we had and guess still have Malaysian students there. And yes worse is to come....hey as long as religion is upheld that is religion based on their views, never mind that you become like Pakistan. wonder where their salaries are coming from? Taxes paid by who?

I can't disagree, this bloody buggers are so busy with this kind of issues but where the fish are they when there is so much corruption and abuse of power is going on? not against religion kah? well those are hard to do and lots of work. and this is more kinky, taking more photos and bullying small people instead of the big fish is easy mah.

P.Ramlee did order gin tonic in one of his movies.Imagine how they would have reacted to that. Guess they would have gone after him and suppressed his talents.

Cemerlang, Gemilang dan Talibanism!!!!!

Now all entertainment outlets have to include this in their job advertistment:
"Muslim women need not apply"
When that happens, our muslim women will have to change career or look for job's elsewhere.
How ? A pity.

The JAIP officers took action after the show, after mid-night. This shows that they are considerate people.

To the accusation of "duit haram". This is unbecoming of the officer to have said such thing. No one is proven guilty. Therefore illicit money does not exist.

The girl and her band members were detained over night. Do they have the right to detain people?

They are considerate? Or they were there watching the show(free show mah) while waiting for the band or the girl to make a mistake. More like they were getting evidence and see what was going on so they can build up a case. if they were considerate, they would have released her. No?

Considerate are the MCA,MIC, Gerakan who voted for our rights to be taken away cos they just sat thru the whole thing and considerately voted yes as per UMNO's wishes. Mahatir declaring Malaysia a Islamic state while your president sat there(not sure what he was considering about, maybe about a fish head story) is one if the reason these kind of things are happening now in Malaysia.

Ironically, Raja Nazrin has just called on the ulema to be "neutral" (as per report in the NST today).

In the audience for his speech was the Perak State Mufti.

I wonder what will be the Learned Mufti's response to Raja Nazrin's speech?

The best part was, the 'touching' of her MyKad was also considered 'dirty'. They might as well not touch and hold any Ringgit Malaysia too cause the RM was probably circulated out of the 'babi seller' at the non halal section of the market too. This people are so low in their mentalities that they might as well just reside in their kampungs. But why ALWAYS only the women folks speaking out. Where are the men folks???... the majority "moderate and progressive" muslims. Don't they have daughters, wifes, gf, neice etc. working hard to earn a living in so called sin places like hotels, cruise ships, airlines, 5 star restaurants, golf and country clubs etc. Can a muslim remiser sell/buy Genting or Carlsberg shares for his clients?

I disagree with your point-of-view.

Malaysians should seriously take their democracy seriously. The minimum is to register yourself & family members as voters and vote in election. You get what you vote for!

Look at Sarawak, things are changing. Slow but definitely changing.

You're very likely right on the 2nd sentence. DEMOCRACY DOES NOT EXIST in this country as far as I can see. Its already a DICTATORSHIP where they can do ANYTHING they like and no-one should object.

firefox:... others should not intervene and interfere in their religious ways...

I agree that others should not interfere, in fact, I believe religion is a personal matter between the person and God.

BUT WE DO NOT PRACTISE THAT IN MALAYSIA

When these zealots impose their beliefs on a Chinese couple holding hands in KLCC and telling an Indian mother to claim her children through Syariah Court, thus making religion into a political weapon, IT IS FAIR GAME FOR ALL MALAYSIANS TO COMMENT ON THE RULES THAT GOVERN THEM.

INTERFERENCE IS NOT ONLY JUSTIFIED, IT IS NECESSARY NOW.

As far as I know, the case of the Chinese couple has not yet been resolved.

In the case of the Indian mother, I believe her husband converted to Islam, with full knowledge of the consequences of his actions.

I believe that the tenets of Islam with regard to marriage between a Muslim and a non-Muslim are pretty clear. There is no room for misinterpretation or misunderstanding.

Are we complaining because the rules of the game are not to our liking or not of our choosing?

Mebbe you wanna add Ms Juliana Ibrahim too, on your list - the page 3 girl on Sunday metro 8th July... 4'9" lass showing off what is definately NOT the Klang Valley :p

Sheeeeesh! For crying out loud - if cannot see, not allowed to see, then don't see... why-ah - these fellas so keypoh, if the girl wanna flaunt her assets - thats her business-la. She can answer to God when she sees Him...

And please don't say that it is a DUTY of fellow moslem to remind the other that this and that is haram. If that is the case - then every moslem flight crew would have to resign... because the MUFTI of PERAK had said that a moslem should NOT work in a place that serves alcohol... last time I was on the flight - the moslem crew are still pouring wines, spirits and alcohol to passengers... how? (especially so when the passenger being served the Fosters' is also a fellow moslem!)

I agree. Islam concerns all, since it's the state religion. Constitutionally, syariah law has precedence over common law, but apart from that the jurisdiction of syariah law is not defined. This gives it effectively a wild card to do whatever it likes. And it appears to me that they have an ambition to expand that jurisdiction stepwise. The civil law cannot do anything as long as the constitution stays as is.

Once again, I reiterate that the people of my country have been betrayed by those who have been entrusted to manage the country. At no time during independence did our Founding Fathers envisage such power would be given to the misguided religious fanatics.

Sorry buddy, forgot that you're not Malaysian :D

You see, the "stan" part is short for "go-stan" which in Malaysian slang is to go backwards, probably derived from "going astern". So, if you have a term like Bolehstan, think of it as "Boleh" meaning Can/Able to and "stan" meaning backwards............. see, geddit? geddit? :p
