Hi... just want to pre-warn people who go to 3K Sports complex ... becareful when you park your car by the roadside carpark. My car left side front window was broken and that bugger ransacked my car for Money, well... not much was lost except some parking coins and my wife IC and driving license. Luckily some leftover CNY ang pows was untouched... probably that bugger thought that it is empty packets :D and my smart tag and touch n' go was not taken (he threw onto the floor), guess he is up for money only.

The only trouble is now I have to spend $$$ to fix my window plus all the hassle in making police report. :(

so sorry to hear that. There is nothing that can be done.

I have always dreamt of the day where we could install CCTV in the car and this CCTV can detect motion. When a motion is detected, the CCTV captures the photo of the thief and emails it to your account.

wish they have that and in a reasonable price

They do have.... it has been around for a long time. It actually cost about RM1,200 per month to maintain it... and its called a Chauffeur! :D

Crikey! What was her drivers' license and IC doing in the car... I would rather lose the COINS, the SMARTTAG and TnG, the angpows - heck, even the car - but not those two darn documents... replacing it is easy. Getting your IDENTITY stolen and misused... now that is whole different ball-game, you don't even want to think about !!!!

Well, my wife tend to be forgetful and so she keep the IC and driving license in the handbrake compartment, just in case she forgot to bring the IC and driving license when driving. Anyway, I have quickly made a police report to report the lost of IC. Like u, I am worried of misuse.

Such statements should not be made without the proof.

Besides do you know that the manpower in Subang Jaya/USJ/Bandar Sunway and Putra Heights Balais has increased? That's why we have more Police patrols throughout the day.

It happened last year on one Sunday afternoon after my son swimming lesson. I was shocked when I spotted the front and back wheels at the left side of my car stolen with some bricks put in place to support the wheel base.

I cannot believed this can happen in broad daylight, near the guard house in front of 3K complex and along the busy Kewajipan road. Imagine these thugs came with bricks, tools and so daring? Is there existence of law and order?

Reported to Police and they came to take some pictures. That was the last time I heard from them.

Not true, YB Dato' Lee Hwa Beng's car was hijacked and till today it has not been found.

Former Asst OCPD's wife was a victim of snatch thief and she was hospitalised at SJMC, no one was caught for the incident.

Many more examples are available.

It amazes me how such conclusions can come about.

I am responsible for the safety of my belongings and the police are not stationed every corner taking care for my stuff and i dont expect them to either....
I lose something the last person i will look for is the police..i dont expect to get my lost items at all with the "help". I have no confidience why do I need them..the country is full of crooks and thieves.
Its a matter of personal survival in this country and i dont point my finger to anyone i get upset.

If I may comment ... making police report doesn't mean to expect the police to recover your things or lost. How do you expect the police to recover the money stolen or tyres stolen? Your name was not printed on the notes or tyres!

The main purpose of making police report is to prevent the fraud incident .. eg. u your purse or wallet was stolen and you have lost your identity card... as long as we make a police report ... we would be 'safe' from getting the blame if so happened your missing identity card is found on a murder site. :)

Just my 2 sen.

What you say is true. However, police report is not only to safeguard you from blames. Reports would allow police to strategise and plan their patrols. How else are they suppose to know where and when crime rates have escalated? They cant plan their work based on just hearsay. So we must report crimes no matter how trivial they are.

our police is supposed to help solve crime and by making a police report, it should initiate an investigation and they will find ways to prevent the crime in the future. but is our police force doing much of those? i don't think so from my own personal experience.

however, let me relate to you my own experience having lost a wallet in singapore some years back. i was in the shower room of a swimming complex and since it was not possible to bring my bag into the shower cubicle, i left it on the bench outside. someone stole my wallet. so i went to the nearest police station and lodged a report. their police actually launched an investigation immediately after that and when i arrived back in KL, they sent me a letter stating the results of their investigation and also the steps and measures to be taken by the swimming complex to prevent a further incident! and a couple months later, i received another letter from the singapore police stating that they have monitored the shower room and the swimming complex hoping to arrest a repeat offender but unfortunately the thief did not return. and if i had no objections, they would like to close the case.

i can't imagine our PDRM boys doing this as probably they are not trained for this kind of process or perhaps they are simply just overwhelmed by the number of cases each day.

I would agree with you that the PDRM boys wasn't well trained for such process but if you understand the ratio of our policeman to the populations, I think you would be able to derive the reason why. In contrast to Singapore which is an Island, Malaysia is a penisular which will definitely increase the difficulties in solving the case as the thief may hide anywhere... unless there is a tip off, otherwise, it will take ages before the case can resolve.

I think Tan Sri Musa should seriously look into increase the police force since that now our PM has pay so much importance on the police forces (which get extra increment). :)
