car thieves are Internet Savvy too you know..
so if you can get one which is DIY-able, then chances of it being a "good" alarm system would be pretty far-fetched..
I'd suggest to get the alarm system installed by reputable professionals...
good brands include Cobra and Clifford.
cost inclusive of installation could be in the RM500 - 3000 range..
depending what you need...
If you want my recommendation of which shop in sunway to install this, feel free to drop me a PM.

Dude... scrimp on your security, suffer the inconvenience of losing a car...
a heck lot less heartache if you had a better alarm... and pedal lock.
RM400-500 or even 800, is nothing compared to losing a car, still have to pay for HP loan (if taken) and then settling for a "market-rate" settlement crap offered by our so-called insurance company!

Wat u guys think about those lelong.com.my selling "car alarm" ?? Some of them are pretty good buy. The GSM alarm looks good. Should i get one of them and get it installed by a reliable source?

Upgraded Cobra alarm... done in Damansara Utama. + GSM* based alarm and motion sensor system... unit that is installed in a good friend's shop in SS15 Subang Jaya (the unit actually calls my hp if the alarm or sensor goes off !! Can even call back and immobilize the car :p
No alarm can/will work IF THE BLOODY CAR KENA TOWED though!!! :(
Installed the PEDAL lock with engine cut-off switch in Puchong... RM280 only.
Losing a car is a once-only lesson learnt! :p
*using the GSM (simcard) for only RM10 a month from Maxis - Family subscription line promo + activated FRIEND FINDER* technology... :p better/cheaper than paying the CMS tracking center

Thanks again.. btw, how much is the Cobra alarm u installed? Initially, i was thinking to get a "cheaper" GSM alarm via lelong but i started to remember this proverb..
" Cheap things never good,
Good things never cheap " :)
So, better to be safe than sorry..
