Beckham handed England recall

David Beckham has been recalled to the England squad for next week's friendly with Brazil and the crucial Euro 2008 trip to Estonia on June 6.

Is about b***** time too Mclaren brought David back. With his experience, crosses, deadball expertise and lots of heart, I cannot imagine why he was dropped in the first place. As if there were better players in the right side Needed to stamp his authority McLaren? He's the wrong man for the job in my opinion, should have gotten Gus Hiddink who brought several countries like Korea and Australia to new heights.

Right side of midfield at this moment, Beckham's the best choice compared to the likes of Lennon and Shaun Wright Philips. Shaun Wright cannot play at international level...he dun have the mentality and always looked lost and coolness. Frankie Lampard is another way over-rated England midfielder, a jaguh kampung type who can only play well if he is surrounded by good holding players like Claude Makele or Mikel Obi who really impressed me with his holding and tackling performance in the FA Cup..this boy will go far like Patrick Veira.

My England midfield will be Gerrard and Owen Hargreaves in the center with Beckham on the right and maybe Jole Cole on the left. Owen should start with Wayne.

It sure delights me no end that Beckham has proved all his critics wrong wrong wrong. He was made the scapegoat of England's last 2 world cup failures by everyone except his diehard fans.
So what if he is one-dimensional? A specialist in one area is way better then a bunch of mediocres who plays with hardly any passion at all to win for the country (exception in Gerrard, Terry and Hargreaves).
McClown has to eat humble pie for not recalling Beckham but for now admitting he's a good player. But believe it or not, he still stands by his decision then to drop Beckham from the squad. What I can say, a clown, always a clown.
