Err buddies...of late over the weekend...the webforum has experienced serious interruptions regularly with accessibility problems for many forumers...

The technical supporter of the webforum Microfocus...wishes to express regrets over any inconveniences caused.

Kudos to their team of technical staffs who has been working extra hours since...even until now...in their attempts to keep the webforum up n running again.

Further interruptions may be experienced...as they are still trying to shut down n perhaps to clean up the webforum FastMail service temporarily...which is heavily infested with SPAMs...causing the website server database to be jammed up badly.

It would help tremendously if anyone of you could access the InBox of your own FastMail account...to delete all the SPAMs in your InBox.

Thank you.

Step 1: By Signing in HERE... (http://www.usj.com.my/fastmail.php3)

Step 2: Key in your own user name...eg. example: "Orchipalar"

Step 3: Key in your own password...eg. example: "password"

Step 4: While in your InBox..."Check n SELECT" ALL the displayed messages of SPAMs.

Step 5: Click "Delete"

Should you be a regular FastMail subscriber...kindly maintain this practice on the regular basis...to help cleanup the messy SPAMs.

...pay yearly subscription already mah...WHAT? yearly subscription? Who was collecting subscription? What are you saying? Please be specific with comments you make - this is highly damaging. When did usj dot com charge anyone for membership?

Paying for the domain name or hosting does not mean the website will be problem free. If the problem is due to SPAM overload of the email, then it is beyond the host site. We are so poor we cannot afford to pay for anti-spam applications. Anyone wish to donate a good anti-spam application for the mail-server?

Oh, by the way, we apologise to those of you who depend on the email address of @usj.com.my - I understand that our techies may have stopped the mail-server in order to relieve the website server of this load.

why not remove the fastmail as i believed, most if not all, are using gmail, yahoo, streamyx, etc?

since the "attack" many moons ago, i can't access my fastmail but nothing's loss as it's not my main email...

kwchang, no need donation. SpamAssassin is free and good. Will require some configuration but if can run a web forum like this, not a problem.

Jand, I meant a spam filter for the email server
No problems with the Forum because SPAM don't attack this.

I believe the email application for usj dot com is closed since it was discovered by our tech support that it was the cause of the website access problems.

May I request users to tell us how is their access since afternoon of yesterday 21May07 ?

A glitch I've observed is noticible latency to the homepage itself for many months. Getting to the forum is much faster then.
It seems ok today..noticible improvement today!.. good job!.

My reference for exemplary performance is http://forum.lowyat.net. Hardly any other site else can match it.

kwchang, spamassassin is for mail.
http://spamassassin.apache.org

when I spoke about the forum, I was referring on the level of difficulty configuring it.

so, which mail server is this site running? sendmail? qmail? postfix? procmail?

Firefly

Did not even know there is this service...but it's ok. I will never use it anyway. So chang, if there is one created for firefly, you can lock it down. Won't ever use or access it. I have enough Gmails to keep me occupied.

Err buddies...since 18:33hr or so...the accessibility to Usj.com.my website was again interrupted...until its recovery a while ago.

Thanks to the recovery efforts by Microfocus again...things in the webforum seem to be very much intact so far...

Very soon perhaps when EL Ho gets back...he could start to work on the server with Microfocus...to see what else could be causing the recent problems to the server.

If I may suggest.... can anyone inform Microfocus to put up a sign when they have to temporary interrupt the access of the website? I tried to log in last night after dinner but could not. Initially, I thought is my internet connection problem.... I also restarted my PC .. then only realize my MSN messenger is online... so, I try to visit other website with ease... only I realize USJ.com.my is down again..... :(

Err buddies...the website's server was down again...since around midnight till it is brought to life again at about 10:30am this morning...[with the help of the tech guru(s)...one of whom happens to be on assignment overseas now]

Orchi thinks...it's about time to gather enough donations from fellow forumers...to install an anti spam mail software...n perhaps also to upgrade to a new server...to replace the current one...which has been slogging of late.

What say the fellow forumers...?

Although I am still somewhat new to this forum, I think that this is an excellent suggestion and I, for one, would like to contribute to such a fund, if need be. I really think that as residents of Subang (and Greater Subang), we are indeed fortunate to have such a forum to air our views, grouses and generally share our thoughts and experiences with our fellow........errrrr, Subangites....... errrr, Subangians...... well, you know what I mean.
Any others?

Err buddies...many thanks to tech guru EL Ho...n the tech support guys at Microfocus...this website n webforum which has been down over 24hours...seems to be up n running normally for now...

If those of you could access your fastmail account. (http://www.usj.com.my/fastmail.php3)..kindly help out to delete ALL SPAM mails found in your InBox...

Is there anyone else favoring to make a donation...for upgrade of of this webserver...n Anti Spam Mail software...?
