I had hoped that some of you guys would have picked up on this, but it obvious that none of you did.

It’s scarily if you read through Jeff’s pieces. (till date 5 parts in all)

You can check if you have itemised billings from the Telcos but what about the PREPAID users?

Imagine the amount of money that is involved.

If all the victims in these scams report and claim from the telcos, would they face cashflow tight for refund???

Ah, one more reason why I still want my monthly itemized bill in hardcopy!

You can save your money by subscribing to e-billing like what is offered by Maxis. Print out the monthly statement should cost you less than RM5 per month.

My advice is, everyone just be alert!. scams in this country is quite rampant, telco's are making HUGE bucks out of sms business, enforcement cannot keep up,..not surprising some scammers see this as an opportunity to make money out of it too.
Me..I'm a lazy lazy man.. I HATE sms'ing.. my phone? ONLY to CALL IN & CALL OUT..period!..

My hat's off to Jeff Ooi for exposing scams..I'm watching how those involved are going to respond or do anything..the saga continues..I'm watching.. :D

actually this maxis cop. lately behaving like a total local telcos comp.(disgrase).why the hell/how on earth they can let the EXTERNAL PROVIDER CHARGE US USING THEIR MAXIS SYSTEM.it is clearly a well planed scam.
when u complaint they happily /wilingly can protect from the provider in the future.BUT WHY CAN'T THEY DO IT IN THE BEGINING??
the answer is easy---little bit from every new or unsuspected maxis subscriber will earn them millions in a month.

Have anyone here being bombarded by sms-adverts from Zouk!

So blardy irritating... as it is, when the sms beeps, you run for the phone ~ only to find out it is an advert...

Complain to Maxis but it still is coming.. and at odd hours too !!!

Another thing ~ I wonder if those "chain-sms" are created by the telco or 3 party fellas to increase their sms usage...
