A doctor in naturopathy advised me to drink alkaline water. Has anyone tried or is drinking this water? Your feedback wd be most appreciated.

No. Alkaline water is different from distilled water. It is supposedly good for acidic body conditions which affect many people nowadays due to diet or stress.

well we all know acid + alkaline = neutral..
and a by-product salt is produced..

but then again, what would be the safe level of alkaline in the water you're supposed to drink?
too much alkaline is not good for the body as well..
did you doctor mention what PH-level water you're supposed to drink?

I don't understand why people would drink alkaline water. I just bought bottle from an air-cond supplies shop for about RM12 in SS15, dilute it a bit and spray on the outdoor air-con unit to remove the dirt and gunky stuff. The shop fella said the alkali liquid is better than the red-coloured one which is acid-based and therefore less "siong" (damaging) on the compressor unit.

Acid or alkali, these liquids look dangerous to me and no way am I going to put them into my stomach. :D

Ah before you buy anything I suggest you test the PH of your tap water first. My uncle who stays in Sunway is an avid fish lover and has built his aquariums for many fishes. He has a unit to test the water and found that the tap water is already very high in alkaline and this causes some of the fishes to die cos they can't survive in high alkaline levels. So no need special filter....

before you buy anything, read the links posted by Palmdoc back in 2007 (http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showpost.php?p=236757&postcount=7). :)

If you really want 'alkaline water' just go buy some Perrier or Sprizter sparkling water.

Or add some sodium bicarbonate to your water. Drink up & enjoy! :p
