This is the KitKat I bought! Anyone have the same experience :D ? :cool:

Looks like the KitKat is disfigured due to our Tropical climate.
Try calling : 1 800 88 3433
Perhaps, they may replace you with extra complimentary packets

Hi, waktu_senja, it is not about melting, the question is what are those red "strings" inside the packet on the chocolate??

I've seen a documentary on the manufacture of KitKat. Its fully automated from start to finish, no human intervention. Something must have screwed up along the way.

The red strip is for ease of opening the packaging. There's this corner of the packaging in which you are supposed to tear, which will pull the red strip, which in turn will help you open it cleanly. Goodness me, who opens Kit Kat like that?

Looks like its a commemorative edition with the red ribbon waiting for someone to do the honors! :) On a serious note, I see its not just a single pack, but 3 of them being given this special treatment. Do report the matter to Nestle, maybe they can rectify that before those tapes land in some kids tummy.

I thought these sort of things would not happen to reputable companies like Nestle.

I bought the 14 Fun Breaks. I ate 1, then 2nd, 3rd and 4th....with the red string, I do not bother to open the rest.

The nestle sales guy would be collecting all the "fun breaks" from me this afternoon!

hhtee, you do have sharp eyes, but is not meant for my sore throat. Due to migraine I do not consume much chocolate, only once in awhile. And KitKat is my only fav :D

when age creeps up, please make sure you consume SUGARFREE chocolate :D

actually, you could put the sugarfree suggestion to the salesman too (if he is from KitKat)

Oh one more thing, please don't feed the "unwanted" chocolate to your dogs. I heard dogs cannot consume chocolate. I don't see any logic but that's what I heard. Maybe some animal lovers here can confirm that.

Nestle salesman and lady very friendly. They thank me for making the complaint, so that they can look into the matter and also check for chocolates belongs to the same batch.

Changed my 14 fun breaks chocolate and have one 4 finger bar free!

Both Mediumsliced and my husband were right! The red strip is for ease opening :)

Just ate 1 bar.....the strip should be on the plastic not the chocolate...

My question here:
Would you make a complaint if you come across this?

I am like a fool to my colleagues (mostly 50 and above). They don't believe in this sort of complaint. They even sarcastic me saying Nestle would send you a lorry for replacement (if they do I bring the whole lorry to TT :p )
:( So I have to quietly meet the sales persons outside my office.... :o

Anyway on a serious note, Consumers must not be naive, ignorant & 'tidak apa' type when exercising their legitimate rights.
We have Ministry of Trade & Consumer Affairs to support us.

Did that once to Pizza delivery service...
The pizza looked over-cooked and wasnt that appealing to me, the delivery boy left my place. Anyway i was going through one slice of the pizza and found it disguting especially with the burnt parts.

Called the company, 30 mins-45mins later a new and freshly baked pizza was at my door step in exchange for my old burnt out pizza.

It is your right as a consumer to do so. For those who laugh at you, they're the fools who do not know their money's worth. Try asking the same question to the Consumers Association of Penang.

For a big company like Nestle, go ahead and complain with trails ablaze! This is something definately unexpected from them.

it looks as though you ate the chocolate while it is still in the wrapper. I can see all the melted chocolate on the wrapping. err.... i wonder you stained your mouth with the melted chocolate or not while eating. hope you wiped your mouth while meeting the sales person :D

anyways, it's your right to make a complain. Those in the 50s may think that complains are no use but they are wrong. sometimes, complains work. your colleagues are the ones who make consumers being vulnerable. if no one complains, companies CANNOT be bothered. can you imagine that in Malaysia no one complains and every one accepts the red strip in the chocolate? what happens if (let's say) a chocolate company just wanting to safe cost, made the chocolate thinner but the weight is still the same. if no one complains, the company gets away with it. or worse still. what happens if another chocolate company made use of hazardous products. if no one complains? are consumers gonna just consume it without questioning?
