Is anyone having problems with the new Cold Storage place in Subang Parade?

I enjoy shopping there in general but I have terrible problems with the woman behind the cheese counter.

When items are unpriced she won't help me out. She won't even get off her lazy a@$e to hand me stuff that's out of reach so I have to streeeetch while she lounges about.

Today when I asked her to price some Brie she shouted at me (in Tamil? doesn't sound like Malay and she ignores my imperfect Bahasa) and turned her back on me.

I won't be going back there. Today was just too embarrassing.

Anyone else have this problem?

Ellen

yes, the management ought to be alerted abt inept staff like that. it'll give a bad image to their store if this goes on. write to them for affirmative action and to get back to you on the action taken on the staff.

if i were you and if i was in a bad mood, I'd wanna release some pressure at her... just make a scene... and you won't see her again... or worst off, you can't go into cold storage ever again.. :p

To this type of personnal, if it is not too embaressing to you, just make one hell of a row with her and ask for the manager, she may end up in cold storage herself. ;) ;)

just make a scene. if she is maning the cheese counter, i have a suggestion to you.

1) take a trolley.... no make it two trolleys
2) see all the cheese without price tag ? it is normal that people may not purchase them. but you now apply a reverse scenario. take all the cheese without a price tag and put them in the trolley.
you should have 100s of cheese by now in your trolley. ask your friend to help. no ask your FRIENDS to help you.
3) go to the checkout counter
4) start your phone recording as evidence
5) tell the cashier at the counter, you are not buying these cheese because you do not know the price and you would like to check out the price first before buying.

Note: if the cashier asks you why on earth you BROUGHT ALL the SAME TYPE OF cheese to the counter when you could have only brought one? you just tell her, "I don't know what the price of these cheese are cause there is no price tag and I thought that the price of cheese is based on weight. since all these same-type cheese looks different in weight to me, I wanna check which cheese is the lightest and hence the cheapest."

:D

what do you think?

wanna try it out ?

we could ask all USJ forumers to go to Cold Storage on the same day and irritate the cheese counter fella.

she will have to collect all the cheese at the check out counter after you say NO I AM NOT BUYING CHEESE and put back all the cheese at the shelf.

the good point is that after this lesson, she will start putting price tag on all cheese and the public will conveniently purchase cheese at ease !

if the next day there is still no price tag. Repeat the steps above

Just got a call from Cold Storage. Apparently the rude woman is not fulltime staff but a promoter. Received an apology from a nice lady from CS and I've directed her to this thread. So any more thoughts, post them here.

I've just had a conspiracy theory thought: maybe the rude one is working for the competition! :-)

Good work lah u...

Ya...let me see...I like the snacks section but need more organic produce...and better cut fruits. Very poor.

There is also a need for the availability of sushi and sashimi at the seafood area.

I liked Jusco MValley when they had the great stuff to munch...now no more...maybe Cold Storage can do this. ;)

hhtee: LOL! I'm in awe of the skillfully designed evil masterplan of revenge. It's worthy of a short story - or a scene in the movie: "Score Settlers: The Supermarket." And then we can write similar stuff for "Score Settlers: The Bureaucrats." Score Settlers: The Garage Mechanic." etc etc each with a typical back-at-you fantasy scene. E.

good for you that you received a reply!. that's why I initially suggested to phone the manager / CS HQ. this also shows that CS is serious about attracting customers. so basically, you shouldn't be feeling bad about about CS.

well, I think we are nowadays in the computer age. it would be good if CS also have a section called "Email your suggestions to Cold Storage".

I have not visited their website and I probably think they have a customer service email address or something like that.

Oh regarding the Score Settler, why not you open the wrappers for the Blue Cheese and shove the blue cheese into the lady's mouth (the one who refused to put the price tag on). LOL :D

make sure you wash your hands later :D

Received more email from Cold Storage. They investigated, discovered other complaints and had the concession people get rid of her. So it's safe to ask for cheese again! I'm going back on Friday for my fortnightly investment. E.

To CS, if they are reading.

Had a bad experience at the cheese counter at Subang Parade some weeks ago. Was a few feet away and was heading there when suddenly a vermin (rat) climbed from under the counter and sat on some cheese. I shouted to the counter staff and some of my friends who were with me saw the animal too. The counter staff? busy playing with her handphone or checking her nails. Anyway, the vermin was more reactive and disappeared before she saw it. She didn't bother to stand up either and started waving her hand like it was a fly.

I cringed thinking of what just happened to the cheese. How could you eat it now after seeing what occurred? I just left after that but I guess should have reported the matter to the manager. Anyway, I'm NOT saying this to give CS bad press. Just hope that they engage some pest removal services. I still go there to shop, just don't buy anymore cheese or other stuff from that counter.

I go to CS often and I've seen a big rat running inside the chocolates/candy shelves once

I kinda forgot about it already until Mimosa mentioned it. The only good thing is this supermarket doesn't stink like rat's urine in Giant USJ n this place is still clean n tidy that's why I forgot about the rats about a few weeks, hahaha.

And yes, seriously, they shd get rid of the rats.

Talking about flies.. I've seen it too many times at Carrefour, Mydin and Giant. Whatever they've been doing to curb the pests, gadgets or what nots..it ain't working! Flies are easily seen hovering on the exposed fish balls, fish cakes, prawns, sotong, sliced fish. You folks better wash the meat properly before cooking..otherwise Lau Sai!.

Why don't they cover up the exposed food items.. Why go down to the level of the wet market conditions?.. not to mention supermarket items are far more expensive than the former.

Stocked up on cheese at the cheese counter in Subang Parade. Everything was properly marked and priced which was great. Didn't see a promoter but as things stand there's no need for anyone to be there.

Didn't see any wildlife!

Seriously, I've seen rats in all the big shopping centres here and not once have any staff looked at all upset. I'm not sure what can be done about mouse intrusions as they creep up from sewers, through wall openings etc.

Perhaps supermarkets should keep store cats? But then better hide the meat and fish...

In fact, these supermarkets/hypermarkets/shopping malls did engage pest exterminator to control the situation. More often, these Pest Exterminators could not do much as the main problem lies on the building structure and the Costs of repair concerned!

In addition, as The Management's knowledge in pest control is very limited they will only select those who can provide the lowest price to them!!! Somehow, they have classified pest control services as commodity products! PRICE IS THE ONLY FACTOR CONCERNED!

Conclusion!!??? We will still see rats, cockroaches, ants, flies and more!

Regardless where you do your shopping, just be careful of contaminations... either from fecal droppings from cats, rats ... even birds.. and also from chemicals that is used to kill the vermins in the stores...

imagine picking up a can (drink) that has been inadvertedly sprayed with insecticide, poisons or whatnots and then you putting your lips on the affected can... you may have just accidentally poisoned yourself
