Am happy that he's finally getting married! & on his & Merdeka's 50th birthday too.

However was piqued that his bride's name was never revealed in the press release &, on top of that, the Comptroller of the Perak royal household, Raja Datuk Seri Mansur Raja Razman, said the Sultanís office would issue statements to the media from time to time to prevent sensationalised reporting. http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/5/8/nation/17658586&sec=nation

By not stating the bride's name, especially in M'sia, is asking for people to speculate!

What's wrong with stating her name and her age? She's a lucky lass indeed to be one out of 26 million M'sians OR, if not a M'sian, one out of 6 billion earthlings to be the chosen one.

So congratulations to Raja Nazrin.

A little correction, my friend... not all 26 million Malaysians and 6 billion earthlings are female... he..he... :p :p So, it's probably 1: 13million/3billion ... :D :D

Hmm...only Jose Mourinho gets to be The Chosen One! :D

Btw, whatever happened to USJ's own Jose Mourinho? Has he retired?

Men can still marry men....Look at Elton John. So technically it's still 1 of 6 billion

so you see its never too late to marry...age is no barrier and to those who have given up there is still hope. All the best to Raja and his future wife though.

my question about the bride-to-be was deleted by the moderators at this forum:- http://rajanazrinshah.proboards52.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1178611322&page=1

have posted another question:- Many congrats on getting married. However this forum is not being transparent as thread about the soon-to-be bride is just deleted.

This non-transparency goes against the very grain of the recent eye-opening speech by Raja Nazrin. I'm sad that questions as to the bride is just deleted. Very sad indeed.

I joined this forum as his speech is awe-inspiring and wanted to learn more but alas the moderators here have their own agenda!

let's see if this too is removed...

should transfer this thread to chatterbox :) :D basically gossiping :p
This is front page news in Utusan Malaysia with the bride's beautiful photo .... quoted as age 30s ..... suspicions of a bit of Caucasian blood. My malay friend informed me that she is not 'royalty' but from 'bangsawan'
the reason it is 'hush-hush' because don't want it like to be 'Datuk Siti-K', 'Rai-Bachan' or 'Angelina-Brad' sensationalisation .... according to Palace source (modified quote, of course ... but the meaning is the same) :D

Ms Zara Salim Davidson has a first-class degree in chemical engineering from Nottingham University.

Raja Nazrin has a PhD in politics, economy and govt from Harvard.

Beauty & brains + brains! Not bad, lah!

Incidentally, Ms Zara has a "Pan-Asian" look. I wonder if that will affect the thinking of certain quarters in this country with regard to "Pan-Asians"? ;)

Come to think of it, Zam might need to back-pedal... the wife of a minister who tore down a building also has a Pan-Asian look... hey Zam, apo nak dikato?

Zara is also the grandniece of first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman. I think she's a good match for our Raja Nazrin. May they both live happily ever after. :)

Tough question. what is their marital status perior to this? single?

I believe Raja nazrin is a new generation leader with a vision. His recent speeches really caught my imagination. He ought to be the PM to bring Malaysia forward.

I wish him well.

Raja Dr Nazrin Shah has politely declined state allocation for his wedding with Zara Salim Davidson.
Instead, he advised the state government to spend the money for development projects to meet the needs of the people.

it must taken alot of courage by this decent couple to proclaim their wedding hoping it would go by with little or no fanfare and publicity and not catching the eye of the local papparazi... sadly it doesnt look like it.

Very unlike some educated(not 1st in class) clown who lives free in Sri Perdana on tax payers money and causing racial tension in the country.

My hats of to the crown prince. It great that we still do have a few good people with common sense in power in Malaysia.

All the best to him and his bride to be. God Bless both of you!!!

If only he can run for the office of PM.

Heads of state and federal departments as well as statutory bodies in Perak are not allowed to use government fund to buy advertisement space in newspapers and buy wedding gifts in conjunction with the wedding of the Raja Dr Nazrin Shah and Zara Davidson.

Goes to show there's many at large (more to come in future) with cow-sense who'd likely shrug off or act deaf to comments or advice from those who have common sense.

A royal with common sense... :) Credit must go to Sultan Azlan & the Sultanah for bringing up a son worthy of carrying the title of crown prince. Perak will be definately be lucky to have a future Sultan that thinks FOR the people...

I think he can be good friends with the Sultan of Selangor too... another no nonsense royalty too...

Here, Hear, Daulat Tuanku!. :)

see... even a chinese knows the traditional way to give respect for a royalty that has earned respect of his people... not like some pompous ADUN from Klang... remember when he was summoned to the palace, he bolted to Melaka for some 'sick' leave... sakit konon !

Respect is something that can take a lifetime to be earned, and can be lost in a second - yet these YBs think that they are entitled to being respected just because they got elected... sheeeesh! What a load of crap!!

Daulat Tuanku... and with hope that Tuanku and Raja Muda Nazrin will be shining examples to some of these idiots. And if that fails... hopefully Tuanku and when Raja Muda becomes Sultan of Perak, will haul these pompous ****s to the palaces for proper dressing down... :p :)
