My first baby was delivered in SJMC, recently had a monthly check-up for my second baby, found out that the charges is much expensive compare with my first baby, first baby monthly check-up close to RM130 (year 2005), but second baby close to RM200. I make a phone call to SJMC, only have chance talk to the nurse. Accordingly to the nurse, SJMC has new policy started from year 2007 to charge extra RM60++ for the ultra sound. I'm quite curious because SJMC also charged RM48 for the imaging. I thought ultra sound should refer to the same thing as imaging.

Does anyone do the monthly follow up in SJMC recently? Do you also have the extra charge for ultrasound? My bill contains the charges for 3 items (Dr. Consultation (RM60), imaging(RM48) and ultrasound(RM62)) + medicine . I would like to figure out is it true the new policy came from SJMC or just particular obstetricians?

Btw, any super good obstetricians to recommend in Sunway Medical Center? Planning to change to SMC liao, beh tahan.

hi i'm new here
just saw ur post and would like to share same experience
went to sjmc to c one of famous gynae there
i was charged consultation rm 180, ultrasound rm 118, imaging rm 48
i am also wondering why after charging imaging, there's still another charge for ultra sound, which i suppose it's the same thing??
but apart from that the gynae is good, really attend to me and explain clearly
so i feel worth it and didn't question tat

I wonder whether it is the hospital's new policy or the doctor's decision?
All 3 of my children were under Dr Siti. Up to 5+year ago, we were never charged for ultra-sound though she used it every visit. Doctor's charges were embarrasingly low in comparison to what is stated - though that was not the factor for selecting her as gynae.

I think Dr Siti so far is the cheapest yet most crowded clinic at sjmc
due to the 'crowd' she hardly spend more time with patients

Heard tat Dr Tang Boon Nee at SJMC is good and prof.
anybody has delivery experience with tis Dr Tang?
