Recently i have purchased a stock and currently still holding on to it, it has to date risen about RM 0.50 but there is expectation that it would gain further ground. Sixth sense however tells me that this stock has currently reached its ceiling, to sell or to buy more is the question?
Can anyone advice generally on when to sell or buy a stock?
Just a amatuer trading on the KLSE so go easy on me.
To Hold a stock... an expectation that the price will continue to rise further
To Sell ... Stock has reached its maximum/ceiling price
To Buy ... in expecatation of future gains.

Its depend on your target.. if u target for short term investment...just pick up your remiser and sell it asap... but if u target for long term u can hold it until it become 1000% on profit or so on...but the risk is also 1000%..
What was i doing... if this dilema happen, i will strictly sell half of it... if got 2 lots just sell the 1st lot and another lot u can hold until big bang going to happen... at least we got sometin rather than just regret gigit jari for any under estimated could happen anytime..
just my 2 cents.. :)

A lot depends on the type of share you bought ?
You didn't mention the name ?

Let's face it. It's your money and your investment. You should be the one ultimately to make the call.
I don't think there's a right or wrong answer to this kind of question. Of coz, it's the kind of question that will generate a thousand different answers though. :p

Just think of it as a random example i have given, don't need to know what share i have purchased.
Oh by the way anyone can recommend any good book to read on StockMarket?
Something simple and easy to understand and related to Asian Market.. maybe.

There are 2 rules to follow :
Rule No. 1 : When you have money to make, you must take the profit.
Rule No. 2 : Must follow rule No. 1.

hmm, try this website.
www.virtualstockexchange.com
it is based on US Dow Jones but it is similiar in investing concepts.
join in a game or 2 then u can learn it the hard way (or easy way). no cash involved.
eg losing 50% of ur equity in 1 bad buy or u could diversify ur portfolio to gain some profit. or worse still after all those transactions still breakeven.
if u guys want. i could host a friendly competition n set up a game for usj.com.my forumers.
