don't have any around USJ but i do know Yamaha (LDP) and a music shop at SS19 do give piano lessons. Yamaha at Subang Parade also offering as I've seen many parents waiting to fetch their children after piano class.

yup... freelance teachers are better (in a sense!) more attention given, 1 to 1 sessions of which my daughter too, enjoys... cost a wee bit more but turned out - my lil' monster have started to play on her own oredi...

Just make sure that the freelance teacher is a "proper" music teacher that have teached in a music school before and not some "drop-out" instead...

jic... can oso give you my daughter's teacher's contact if you want... or if you'd prefer, another contact for the (lady) teacher to COME to your house to teach your daughter... again, this teachers' fees are slightly higher but at least - it is gonna save you from rushing like a mad parent shuttling the kid to and from music lesson... :p

john,
my advice is..
depending on yr child's age..send her to a music school first..yr desire to have her learn piano might not be the same as hers! see how she enjoys the lessonsfirst and if it looks promising, then you can consider having a teacher come to the house..saves you buying a piano if yr child is not keen..
all lessons whether at school or at home is conducted on a 1-1 basis..

JohnDee,

My wife is a piano teacher in USJ2 and teaches free lance in the Subang area. She has been teaching for the past 20 years and percentage of passes in exams are 100%. i.e she will need to access your daughter's capabilities before she can take. No arrogance intended :) Let me know your contact number and we will be in touch. Thanks.

Anyone knows what happened to Broadway Academy in Taipan? Do you know where they move to?

Broadway closed down the last I heard. You might want to contact Sharon 012-2013590. Turns out she gives fantastic results for students under her care. A friend I know says that she hesitated because her fees are quite high but in the end tried her out. The child turned out fantastic and she wished she had not doubted earlier.

Dear all,

Appreciate it if you could recommend a good piano teacher to teach a 7 year old and a 5 year old. 7 year old is going to sit for Grade 1 in Aug 2011 & 5 year is a beginner.

Teacher must not come with arrogant attitude (i terminated one in USJ 9 for this reason).

Thanks for help.

My daughter goes to one in USJ4. She's good with kids and you can let her know your requirement, whether it's for serious learning (with grading etc) or just want the kid to learn for fun.

Hi there, I'm looking for female piano teacher (home based around Subang Jaya area, preferably SS18/15/14) that I can send my 7 year old daughter to. Since school hols are coming, I thought of sending 2-3 times a week. Prefer fun learning, no exams please. I need to go to the teachers' house as the piano at home is not in good condition. Please let me know. All recommendations appreciated.
