If you look at the lamp post right in front of StanChart and PBB in Taipan, you will notice it has something in the ctr, with a junction box below it. My guess is it is a CCTV. But the who is monitoring it and what is the deal with it? If it is to deter snatch theft, I doubt you have morons snatching in Taipan where human traffic will pose a threat already to potential snatch-thieves.

I'm waiting to be enlightened...........

We have heard that MPSJ is indeed putting up some CCTVs in various areas in SJ/USJ especially near the banks. It is their project, hence I believe they will have the personnel to man the monitors at their base station.

Ya, this CCTV is installed by MPSJ. We shall be installing around 100 CCTV's in the whole of MPSJ area up to Balakong. In SJ/USJ, there will be around 30. The CCTV in Stanchart is a test camera.

Recently, somebody used a stolen card to cash out and was captured in the CCTV and the police were given the recordings.

The CCTV's are installed to deter snatch theives and also assist MPSJ in its enforcement. It will be installed at busy areas, snatch thieves hot spots, traffic junctions and some school entrances.

Yang Amat Berhormat

Appreciate very much your input.

May we know what is the approximate cost of this exercise to the taxpayers? Was there an open tender held for the award of the purchase contract?

What is the follow-up on the above crime case? Was the recording effective in identifying the offender which resulted in solving the case?

What is the expected drop in crime rate in Subang once the exercise is complete?

Best Regards and do keep healthy.
