I think my refrigerator needs service as it is not very cold (just cooling) & stuff in the freezer are not frozen for the past few days.
Any recommendation for a service guy to come and check & do the service /change parts without carrying the refrigerator away?Tks.

What brand is it ? May be able to get the manufacturer's service team to do the service. At the very least it will give you some peace of mind.

Do this first before you call the service man. Clear out all your barang barang from your fridge and defrost or whatever the fridge and leave it as it is for 1-2 hours. Then power up your fridge. If it is still not call, then call the service man. But don't call this number 012-6524942. They have dropped their flyers in USJ areas and when you called them, they will appear in a van. It never cross my mind to wonder why are they operating from a van. Their receipt has no company name, no addresses and no fix line contact. Why. I let you figure up yourself. Recently they repaired my fridge for RM 250 and owe me another part. They pocketed the money and that was the last time I heard from them. My numerous phone call went unanswered and when I called from a different phone and knowing who I was, they used all the Cantonese foul words on me. Luckily I didn't understand what they were saying. Bottom line is I advise you to stay away from them if you find their call card in your letter box. I will be buying a new fridge as what they repaired kaput - back to square one.

I have a similar problem with my 10 years-old Sharp fridge not too long ago. Follow these few steps here which might help you save a couple of hundred $$.

1. Is your compressor working? If it is working, thank your lucky star as a new rotary compressor with workmanship, gas refilling etc for this fridge will put you back at least RM700.

2. Open the freezer or fridge door. Depress the switch and if you can hear the fan blowing, it means you fan and motor is functioning.

3. Check the drain pan at the bottom of fridge. If it is dry, chances are your cooling coil is not defrosting automatically. Very likely your timer which is located at the back of the fridge has mulfunctioned.

4. As PCYeoh as said earlier, switch off your fridge and remove all the barang2. Open the doors and do manual defrosting. Takes about half a day. Your drain pan might overflow, so get ready some rags to mop up the water.

5. Next open up the compartment at the back of fridge and remove the timer ( a white plastic box with some model no. 80XX depending on your fridge model). Take a marker pen to mark the alignment of the coloured wires or take a photo. You can buy one of these timers for less than RM30 from the air-con/fridge parts suppliers in SS2 - same row as Sri Siam. Bring you old timer for comparison. I remember getting mine for only RM27.

6. Replace the timer and switch on the power. With the new timer, it takes about 3-4 hours before the fridge runs normally.

Good luck. Belanja me one teh-tarik if it works.

Thanks for all your feedback. Actually I have switched off the power yesterday morning before I went for work & only on it after 12 hours when I reached home. I only read Pcyeoh & Kenny's teaching method now :p
I didn't know that I need to take out all the barang & open the freezer & fridge door as I hope that the fridge is still cold enough for my barang to "tahan" :D Actually this fridge is auto defrost, thus doesn't has the button to press for defrost & doesn't has the drain pan at the bottom of the fridge. Even is auto defrost,I can see ice being formed at the freezer compartment before the problem occurs. When I reached home yesterday, most of the ice has melted but no water flowing out either  I don't know where the water flows to ? I don't see any timer behind the fridge as it is a flat surface & nothing behind it. Thank God that the lucky star is with me as this morning I check the water in the ice cube tray has been frozen & I think it is starting to function as normal again :)

Don't know what happen my fridge compartment is not cold again but the freezer compartment is doing fine  It happened yesterday after the strong thunder strike on Sunday early morning(pass midnight) where the power supply was cut off.
I have switch off the power this morning, hopefully it works again this time when I switch it on upon arriving home tonight.

Switch off that damn fridge for 2 more days , open the doors if possible, for all those blardy ice that clogs the circulation like a heart attack, to melt away and you should have a working fridge again.

Just to update here. I have actually call the SJ Universal at SS15 to come & check my fridge & they took it for 3 days to do the checking & testing.
Outcome: motor & heater/sensor faulty. So change at cost of RM260 with man power charges. 2 weeks later, the fridge not cold again :( Call them & they took back for checking & testing again...the sensor is not functioning...
Anyway they change it again without extra charges ( this was what they said) & the fridge is functioning well now :) Their service is not bad & they are quite polite as well especially the lady who is answering phone, very good PR :p
