i lifted this off a biker's blog without his knowledge & his permission...(hell I don't need his permission, he's my brudder :p ...i thought i better share with some of you considerate road users plying the roads in this bolehland
:p ...just so we all know lah.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
...
...I remember once, a long while ago, having an argument with a car driver, who was of the opinion that motorcycles should give way to cars because they had smaller engines. I almost shoved my beer can up his ass, because any motorcycle above 250 c.c. in this country pays more in road tax yearly than a 1500 c.c. car. Not to mention that any motorcycle imported into the country pays >100% in import duty. So on a price per pound basis, I would think big bikes have more of a right to the road that any econo-box sedan. Motorcycle use less road space, donít damage roads, consume fewer resources and produce less emissions (no one mention 2 strokers, theyíve been banned for road use almost everywhere else in the world except this region and Africa).

And every day, more and more, I think about the dangers I face daily. Iíve lost count of the number of close shaves, or how many wing mirrors Iíve ripped off or broken, of how many doors Iíve kicked in, or the number of windows Iíve broken with a quick application of a carbon fiber knuckled glove. Iím getting really tired of having to be wary and cautious.

So, in fair warning to anyone who may be sharing the road with me from tomorrow. Iíve decided that I have equal rights to the road as you do in the rush hour. Donít get in my way.

....let me assure u he means it

if i am not mistaken according to the law, actually bikers have the right of the way on the road as they are paying roadtax too. even if we are on the left lane, if the biker is at the middle of the lane, the car drivers do not have the right to horn them. even during traffic jam, by right the motorcyclist should follow the car behind and follow the traffic jam.

No worries lato, us good drivers respect other road users equally regardless if they ride a kapchai or ride a BMW R1200R all suited up in their thousand ringgit Icon helmet, Axo suits, Dainese gloves & Sidi boots, or even if they get driven around in a Panzer. ;)

I do hv problem with some bikers when I ride my puny 14kg 2 wheeler though, some of them act like they own the road and tried to bully smaller human powered vehicles, how I wish I can run them over with a 4x4 there and then!

No wonder most Malaysian motorists don't stop at zebra crossings as streetwalkers don't pay roadtax ???!! :p :p :p

hmmm... i feel that is not about bigger cc, nor who pays more road tax, but rather who stands more to lose in an accident. Same goes for car drivers who have to jam brakes when a lorry or bus suddenly cuts out. When ur fren goes against a car head to head, guess wat, my money's on the car!! :)

When travelling on LDP, you notice at certain locations (where the road is a flyover), there are signs there that says no bike (motocycle sign with a cross on it). Well what's the point of putting these signs up if no one seems to be following it and the law does not seem to be enforcing it.

actually you would notice the no motorcycles sign on nearly every flyover (LDP got many) and tunnels (LDP, jln tun razak, jln loke yew etc). No one follows the sign....

It is such a pity when motorists on the road feel that MIGHT is RIGHT. I hope the Police throw the book at the motorcyclist.
