I bought a Kodak C653 early this year. After a few times using it, the camera shutter len can't open, even with a new batteries.

I decided to take the camera for repair. I took along the chopped warranty card to the same dealer that I bought the camera. Besides the chopped warranty card with the dealer name and address, the counter staff also asked me for the copy of the receipt. According to him, they need to send a copy of the receipt with the warranty card to their supplier, in order to get my camera repaired.

Lucky I kept the receipt in the box, so I don't have make another trip to the shop to get my camera repair.

I find it ironic that the supplier doesn't acknowledge their own valid warranty card.

I think the warranty card is from Kodak and not from the shop you purchased your camera. What u need to do is to send ur unit directly to Kodak. Normally they won't ask u for the warranty card but if they ask, then just show the warranty card to them. Don't bother to tell them that you never send to them, just said u sent because there is not specific requirement that we must send the warranty card to the manufacturer by AR registered mail. :)

Thanx for the advise.

When I bought the camera, I send the warranty card with all my details and the date of purchase back to them. My opinion is that they just want to make life difficult for their customers to claim for warranty repair.

Anyway, I took back the repaired camera, and you know what happen, the camera len can't open after a few shots.

I think I should have bought a Canon instead.
