A 17" widescreen LCD panel, the zd8110us is a brilliant desktop replacement notebook. Even at today's standard it does not look aged. With a P4 3.0Ghz process and ATI X600 dedicated memory GPU, this notebook can even run Windows Vista without any problem.

It comes with Windows XP MCE edition with a satellite signal capable TVTuner box enabling user to do recording of favorite TVshow straight to the harddisk

I have upgraded the 100GB 4200RPM harddisk to Hitachi 7K100 7200RPM 100GB IDE harddisk. thus further improving the performance.

Since it is quite a large notebook with 17" screen, it is classified as a desktop replacement notebook. It is good for general computer user who prefer a notebook over desktop for flexibility and able to handle decent game once in a while. Of course, you can still carry it around, just that it is a little heavy. I have played MS Flight Simulator 2004 and Call of Duty 2 on this notebook.

The biggest different of this notebook from others is the presence of dedicated numeric pad, which prove to be very useful especially for number crunchers.

This unit was bought from J&R in New York when I was in the state Nov 2005. It has given me no problem till now, other than a half blown speaker which I have ordered replacement from HP and replaced.

I am letting this notebook go because I have been given a notebook by my company so there is really not a need for another notebook around.
