Same question ....Hahahaha.....that is an exception! I have no response to that one. I was too stunned to say anything and still am. It was like whaaaat?! Why is it that when a divorced (widowed) man remarries, the wife is almost (exception being highlighted above by CM) certainly younger and prettier than the former wife?

Maybe you should have said "physically prettier"...Pretty can be physical or mental.

To answer your 'prettier', I would say 'prettier' gives a man some pride but it is only skin deep and superficial.

True. My friend visited some people in another place and out of respect ate what was served which was dog meat. When he came back, his dog refused to go near him for a week and kept growling at him.

My "belief" as far as psychics and fortune tellers are concerned is that they can "tell" for others BUT not for themselves or to enrich themselves - more like their "power" is to serve and not self-serving .... assuming that I believe in them in the first place, of course ;) :p :p :p

My response: These two ladies are too greedy. Asking them to come back in 10 years is not punishment enough. You should have tied them up, slowly peeled off the mango and ate it in front of them telling them how delicious it was but never at any one time letting them taste it! That ought to teach them!

Predator is the first one starring the Austrian muscleman. That was very good. I was watched the Blur ray version last week. It's still very good despite being an 80's show. Awesome. Arnold S is perfect in his role as the alien killer. Predators is the new 2010 version. Arnold is not in this one which worries me. What is most alarming though is that the producers got a SKINNY guy to play the role Arnold played in the first movie !! That has to be a joke but I'm not laughing. :(

Fresh question.

There is a thread on End of the world on Friday? True kah?

Dervish
13-08-2010, 02:45 PM
That will be today. Not true. It won't happen until all 9 planets are aligned. And it won't happen until Israel is defeated in a major war.

You think it's true?

Naka
13-08-2010, 02:55 PM
No true.

If Israel can be defeated in a major war, what is the outcome in the Middle East and the world?

Dervish

The Middle East will gloat since they are such long time enemies but I think they too will suffer, if anything, from their proximity to the war zone. You will agree that some are already suffering. As for the rest of the world, we too will suffer when the superpowers hoard. I hear that Russia is already stockpiling what?...their wheat? Trade will also suffer. Someone mentioned that China won't be pleased if Israel assaults Iran....we are mere mosquitoes in the eyes of the superpower...

What's your take?

Naka

No body wants a major war....if there are rockets launches and retaliations or raids or vide versa, that is understandable afterall such things happen everyday and is not news to me.

This is life.

Yet a major war can happen with Netanyahu on the reins. He is known to be a hard liner. It takes two to tango, they say. All we need is another hardliner and that's the war for you. I wonder if Ahmadinejad is up to it.

Anyone care to comment?

Al Pacino, definitely.

His Australian accent will probably get in the way, I'm afraid. :D I agree with you that Harrison Ford is quite irreplaceable as IJ. I can't imagine anyone other than HF as IJ.

How do you find Daniel Craig as James Bond?

Dervish
16-08-2010, 09:00 AM
Not great. I preferred Pierce Brosnan.

Who's your favourite Bond?

QuietStorm
16-08-2010, 10:54 AM
Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Pierce Brosnan is good too but Daniel Craig doesn't impress.

Best James Bond movie so far in your opinion?

Dervish
16-08-2010, 11:46 AM
To me, all of them are variations of 'best', so couldn't really decide which is THE best. I know which one is THE worst! That'll be the one where Bond was captured and tortured...so unbecoming for a hero.

Same question.

QuietStorm

Were you referring to the one where Bond, played by Sean Connery, almost got his family jewels removed by a laser beam?. Lucky thing he managed to talk his way out of it. :D. The worse in memory is the last one starring Daniel Craig. The editing in the chase scenes was so fast and tight, I didn't know what was happening. And WHERE IS THE BOND THEME??. The song didn't appear in the last two shows..oh wait..I think it did make a lame appearance during the closing credits of the second last Bond adventure but that doesn't really count. I don't care what they say but if there is no James Bond theme, it isn't a James Bond movie !

Where was I? Oh yes. Best James Bond movie? You're right, Venuspop. It isn't easy to pin down one favourite. I like so many of them ! Most are my favorites except for the last two and that George George Lazenby turkey of a James Bond adventure. :D. Never quite like Timothy Dalton either, truth to be told.

Your favourite James Bond line?

Dervish

Martini, shaken not stirred. :D:D:D

and yours?

QuietStorm
16-08-2010, 02:26 PM
Bond, James Bond. IMHO, so far only two could utter that classic signature Bond movie line with class. Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Daniel Craig's attempt was so pathetic, the filmmakers decided to cut it out !! :o :o

Which Asian actor would you like to see in a supporting role in a James Bond movie?

Dervish
16-08-2010, 02:50 PM
the one who made Kung Fu Hustle. That one is hilarious. Chow Sing Zi...something like that. :D:D:D
(BTW the worst Bond Movie isn't the one starring Sean Connery. I think it's the one starring Pierce Brosnan. Probably his last. He was caught and tortured by some Vietnamese general whose son he killed? can't remember the name...)

and you?

(I think the worst is George Lazenby "On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Pierce Brosnan is Die Another Day I think, also showing Halle Berry).
