This is the Nageen Lake series, the complete series is HERE. (http://www.alexmoi.net/travel/kashmir/)

Some may ask why took me a month to process the photos, one of the reason is because I'm trying to wipe away the nightmare that I went through in India, two is the promise that I made to the people that I photograph, I must send all these photos back to them, Now when I look at all these photos, if you ask me, will I going back to Kashmir again? The answer is Yes, despite all the hassle and risk. I will go back during summer time again.

beautiful pics you got there SS. Just curious to know if its still troublesome to move around ? When l was there in the early nineties, there will be checkpoint/police block every 300m. and the scary part was you will be checked at gun point eww..

not really troublesome if you have local guide together with you, situation I think it is the same, they check and check and blardy check till I'm so damn sick of it, yet that is the way they do things in Kashmir.

I never see so many AK47 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ak47 machine gun model in my life, all from Russia, no M16. the soldier stand in the field like a tree for days, happily and willingly. in their mind is the Pakistan soldier can came out from the ground like a earth worm and slowly climb up into their ass without making any noise.

It is a Paradise, indeed, but the hell angel will not let it be so peaceful like how it suppose to be, you can hear them screaming -LET'S MAKE THIS PLACE HELL!

I second that..... Wow, some of the imagery is just amazing. Your shots really bring out the beauty of the region. I always knew that Kashmir was beautiful but this really is breathtaking. What a crying shame that such a beautiful region has to suffer the turmoil that it does.
